The Manager is in charge of team matters. What has his assistant got to do with it?The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men. Blessed is he, who in the name of charity and goodwill shepherds the weak through the valley of darkness, for he is truly his brother's keeper and the finder of lost children. And I will strike down upon thee with great vengeance and furious anger those who attempt to poison and destroy my brothers and you will know my name is The Lord when I lay my vengeance upon thee. Lets try to remember this is just people guess working on theories, lets not hang a summer buy just because somebody on the 'net said it's true.Originally posted by Dave Benson Phillips View PostPanic buy is almost certainly Babel, he's being played out of position, was overpriced and hasnt done much so far

Babel or new goalkeeper as we expected to keep Carson for the year. That would have been a panic buy.Originally posted by ShaggyAlonso View Post****ing hell.
I'll take this with the appropriate pinch of salt, but it's certainly plausible and worth discussing.
As an educated guess at the supposed "panic buy", I'd say Babel?
However, what right does Pako have to question the merits of any signings made by Benitez? His remit doesn't include the scouting or purchasing of players, as far as I know.

My reasoning is this:Originally posted by NICKZS View PostReally? Benayoun looked, to me, like a signing that Rafa had nailed on from the start and was actively pursuing for the majority of the summer. Whereas Babel's signing just came out of nowhere which leads me to think he could be the player referred to. This is, of course, if what has been posted is true.
We waited ages before we signed him and I always thought this was indicative of a player we knew we could get but were hanging on so he was always there as a backup.
He occupies a similar squad role to Babel but hasn't played in the PL (I admit that Babel has been used more on the left than Benayoun has been used to but seeing as both use it as a starting position and cut in they are broadly comparable in my book).
Obviously I mentioned both as I think you can make good cases for either. I wouldn't be surprised if it turned out to be Babel if like you say the posted information is true at all."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."

This net can be a real turn off at times. People really need to get a grip about what's important and not get their knickers in a twist because they don't like how someone posts.

Doesnt that say everything about himOriginally posted by Maestro View PostI reckon we can forget about him going to Chelsea or United for a start.
He'll go back to Spain with his family and have his choice of top jobs.
Ill be gutted if he goes to Manure, Fergie will laugh even more after Heinze's failed move

This is at the bottom of the Daily mail article in the comments section:
LinkGet down the bookies now and have a few quid on Gary MacAllister coming in as his replacement, with Gerard Houllier also returning to the club as Director of Football.
The wheels are already in motion, as GH recommended the latest Liverpool signing, Damien Plessi, from his old club Lyon.
- Elisha Scott, Liverpool
Bit odd.
