Also, I am definitely not anti-Rafa Benitez.

All I am saying is that there are better ways of making your point rather than protesting like this in public. Only a week or two ago Hicks was condemned by many for "doing his dirty washing in public" and how it wasn't "the Liverpool Way". Well WTF are RTK doing?!

Finally, I am not blaming Rafa entirely for our poor recent results but what better way to paper over the cracks than to deflect the criticism through your mates in the media onto other people? I bet Mourinho wishes he'd done that now. And Jol. And especially Allardyce...

Believe me, no-one on this site is more passionate about our great club than me but sometimes you have to think for yourself and not just follow blindly like the rest of the sheep...

I understand what you are saying here, but this "sheep" has decided he did it for reasons other than merely deflect criticism. IMO he had the best interests of the club at heart and decided to expose them for the frauds they clearly are.

They have broken promises made to him and then undermined him IMO so fair play for fighting your corner RAFA. It was a big risk on his part but it may pay off for him.

If he fails to deliver on the pitch he will be removed at the right time. That time is not now.
Nah. He won't win the Prem. You can quote me on that. - Sarb24

Liverpool's refinancing deal hits late hitch

        By David Bond

Peter Crouch might have saved Liverpool from a disastrous defeat by Aston Villa at Anfield last night but the club could be set for yet more turmoil after it emerged that a £350 million refinancing deal is on the verge of collapse.

Although the club's under-fire American owners insist negotiations with the Royal Bank of Scotland and investment bank Wachovia remain on course, City sources told The Daily Telegraph last night that the deal had hit a last-minute hitch.

The latest twist in the Liverpool saga could open the door for Dubai International Capital to launch a £350 million takeover bid for the club - a year after they were squeezed out by the Americans.

Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admitted last night that the off-field problems were affecting the players, saying: "We know what's going on, but as players you've got a job to do on the pitch and you try to put what's going on off the pitch to the back of your mind. But sometimes it's impossible, when it is every day."

Liverpool co-chairman Tom Hicks promised last Monday that the deal to refinance the one-year loan from RBS to fund his £220 million takeover with George Gillett last February would be announced at the end of last week.

A spokesman for Hicks said yesterday he remained confident the refinancing deal would be concluded. He also reiterated a statement issued by Hicks on Sunday which denied that the Dallas billionaire had already agreed to sell the club to DIC. Hicks maintains he is committed to being a long-term owner of Liverpool.

Time is running out for the Americans to conclude the loan agreement. Contrary to reports that they had until the end of February to sign the deal, it is now understood their one-year loan with RBS expires in just under two weeks.

However, if the refinancing falls through, DIC will be in pole position to come in and rescue the club.

Despite tentative negotiations with Hicks, no formal offer has yet been tabled by DIC.

          You make valid points RS4.

But for me, the crux of the argument is to give Rafa more time and give him full power to implement his vision. Was it unrealistic to believe we would have won the league (or challenged for it) this season ? Could be so. We didn't foresee that Arsenal were gonna be challengers so early.

Rafa has to take some of the blame yes, but even though I believe he's used the media intelligently, it could save this club a disaster in the near future.

For that alone, we should be thankful we have a manager who's bleeding red.

As for the protests, if nothing happened and we weren't voicing our discontent, the americans would use us as a plaything, which in fact, they're already doing right now.

Would there have been protests about the Yanks tonight if we were top of the league? Yes, I think the issue here is the endless lies. Every one of their so called promises has been broken. They haven't backed the manager, in fact they have undermined his best efforts to do HIS job, they are now loading 350million pounds of debt onto the club (so effectively they have purchased LFC for nothing), we are still no closer to a new stadium (how many different plans have there been now??) and so on and so on.

Who would have got the praise if we were top? Rafa and the players (so they should)

So whose fault is it we're not top of the league? Rafa and the players (do you honestly think they don't care, take a look at Rafa and the effect this is having on him.

              Who's getting the blame?
The stinking lying Yank Cunts (Gee I wish they'd **** off)

              ****ing genius...

Graham Beacroft. Seemed to be pretty confident of the takeover going through.

There is enough out there in the media to suggest it is going through IMO. Infact I would guess it is already decided and the end price will probably be 350M pounds, hence Bascombe being so confident. I think all the press bollocks regarding price (eg 500M no its 300M, wait its 400M) is just part of a build up to the sale and allows a win/win for everyone.

Could be miles off but it wouldn't surprise me.

It's a war and if we want to have any chance to save the club then there is more or less no other option than to show it this way. I understand your point but the club is more important than to do it the Liverpool way.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

well if Beaky says it's on then fcuk me it's all bull****. The guys does not have a clue. I remember him saying on a number of occasions that OWEN had pretty much signed for LFC for him then to be paraded around St James park
On awaiting Everton's arrival for a derby game at Anfield, Bill Shankly gave a box of toilet rolls to the doorman and said: "Give them these when they arrive – they'll need them!"

I think you are being over-dramatic. While greatly worrying, unsettling, dissapointing and an issue that should be challenged and addressed, war it most definately is not. I think we also need to reconcile ourselves with the fact that the Americans will be in charge of the club for a while. DIC may not be 'Knights riding Camels' steaming into town to save us fro the evil Hicks and Gillett.

We need to ensure that our heritage is not destroyed and our way of doing things is preserved. If things truly are as bad as the media would have us believe then they will be forced to work their eventual course, without hunger strikes and kamakazee attacks by club fundementalists.

A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

Probably just another rumour, but Micky Quinn on the radio this morning said he'd heard that DIC were prepared to wait until G&H had been through the pain of re-financing before they put in a bid.
