You're right mate, for people who love the club supporting the club will always come first. I think the Echo survey the other day said 76% of people surveyed would boycott matches if the the yanks stayed in charge. I think in practice it would be more like 6% because we love our club so much. I wish I could say with absolute certainty I'd be in that number of 6%White liquid in a bottle = Milk

That would increase the pressure on them, also they would have to pay off all those managers and back room staff, £10m+ every couple of years. What your saying doesn't make sense in any way unless the club was a plaything and not treated as a business (like Newcastle). A poor team would effect matketing, the number of people in the stadium, tv revenue from CL and PL and also mean a lower amount from naming rights. What your saying would work in usa as they can't be relegated and you don't have to be succesful to make money but in the PL you do so it is in their best interests to keep on improving the team.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostIts all fantasy mate I'm afraid. G&H haven't ****ed up at all, they are doing exactly what they planned to do all along. They've burdened the club with debt and will build the stadium, then sell to the highest bidder on the back of 70,000 bums on seats. there will be minimum investment in the team and the manager will change every 2 seasons or so to keep the pressure off them.
Thats the future as I see it

I love LFC more than I hate G&H thats why we should all boycott the club.Originally posted by SpeedyG View PostIt basically comes down to. Do you love Liverpool more than you hate G&H. I love Liverpool more
Sometimes you've got to hurt the one you love in the short term for the greater good in the long term.
Don't get me wrong a boycott will never happen. But you could get rid of G&H in weeks if Anfeild was half empty for a few games.AKA Heighway No9

We all hear how Moores is above criticism for dropping us in the **** because loves Liverpool. Lets cut out the slating of people on here who go against the general consensus....after all they still love Liverpool...so that makes it alright No idea what your point is here sorry fella. Summat about Moores??

Boycotting stuff is up there self-defeating wise with the Virgin staff threatening to go on strike.
All that would happen is the club loses more money, the owners might lose out, but they'll simply give less to the team (staff).
One virtual guarantee - I bet ticket prices go up 10-15%. That's several million a year in one go!Quote of the year :

guarenteed tabloid headlines on sunday will no doubt include benitez to walk, meltdown of liverpool, gerrard to newcastle, mouriniho to anfield, tom hick's ate my hamster.
At least 2 of these are bound to appear FACTthe sun gives life and it takes it away

Like you say we have to be realistic, it won't happen, so theres no point putting the club through the hurt. We've suffered enough over the last couple of months.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostI love LFC more than I hate G&H thats why we should all boycott the club.

Complete over-simplification Disco and you know it.Originally posted by disco View PostSo people don't want to line G&H's pockets, but wouldn't mind lining another investor's pockets.
O K
If the other investor was a genuine LFC fan and wasn't a lying duplicitous ******* trying to undermine and humiliate the manager then I'd have no particular issues with lining their pockets.White liquid in a bottle = Milk

Agree with a lot you have said. As you also say it would be great to see the accounts.Originally posted by disco View PostI've been saying that for ages
See my other post on that thread though, much depends on how 'fluid' the flow of money is from LFC to Kop Holdings, particularly when we don't make a profit...

Even without major investment, we'll still have a more than decent team, one capable of CL qualification. The club wouldn't be run into the ground but we won't be challenging for any championships.AKA Heighway No9

Without hitting them in the pocket lomg ter, you can't. They do exactly as they please with LFC and we can like it or lump itAKA Heighway No9

Please can somebody who knows better than me convince me that this placing the debt against Kop Football Ltd rather than the club is anything other than a sleight-of-hand?
As it is the club's finances that must cover Kop Football Ltd's repayments, then it must be the club's assets that are at risk if Kop Football Ltd were to default? It's not good because it's rude. It's good because it looks like it's good because it's rude.

Dissagree on that - me i'd go week in week out whatever div we're in but a lot won't -Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostThere will be very few new players anyway mate. Its not the lost revenue from 1 match that will hit them, its the possibility of a half empty stadium every week that worries them.
It'll never happen as people will always want to go to the match. G&H know that however poorly the team is doing anfield will sell out every week. They've got us by the balls.
70000 is a lot of seats to fill when some of the lesser games arn't sold out.
In fact would we sell 70000 for this Sat, would we off sold 70k for Luton infact would we of sold less? 70k would get rid of a lot of loyalty requiremnet and if we are playing crap and mid table won't take long for fans to watch it on the tele
A lot of our support is out of town, that';s some commitment to travel from the south coast - fly from Europe to sit in a 70000 seater stadium to watch crap and fight for mid table. Its times like these we learn to live again FF

In fairness though, if Rafa's masterplan has worked, we wont need to sign many players in the coming years because he's got them signed up and playing in the academy already...sort of like what Wenger did when Arsenal tightened the purse strings.Originally posted by Sir Bob View PostEven without major investment, we'll still have a more than decent team, one capable of CL qualification.
