It is, but so is owning a NFL team. What the Krafts have done for the Patriots is nothing short of incredible. And beside building one of the best sides in NFL history they're everyone's second favourite team.

But I can't see the Krafts ever making a bid for LFC. I reckon that ship has well and truly sailed.

Not quite sure he'd bring any more to the table, except he'd probably more humble and silent.

As Revo indicated there are stuff going on behind the scenes. What if Rafa did threaten to leave in Nov? Would that change the scenario for you? how can we talk about deception when we have no idea what's going on and whom might be screwing whom?

The Americans are dependent upon success to get a decent return.

The silence from the KT clique is quite deafening. Revo, Tom, Polo, RED AL and all the others seems to have information that could put a very different spin on things. Let's give this some time before we all jump out the windows.

Thinks are not always what they appear to be.

Regardless I still fail to see what G&H would gain by running LFC into the ground.

Well, the whole loan is against the club and according to the Observer G&H would get back the £40m they put up against their personal assets in case of a takeover.

So in theory they could sell off a lot of players, take the money and run and won't need to worry about any debts because what is left of the club will be owned by the bank in 18 months time.

Surely the bank must have something written that they must agree to every player we sell off or else the above situation would be possible.
Just believe and you never know what will happen.

According to Benitez it's important not simply to go out to win but to go out prepared to win, which means players have to put in the same level of work on a daily basis. Anything else is unacceptable.

What has Revo said? Is it on this thread somewhere?

Not a chance in hell. For so many reasons.

                    - The banks would NEVER allow it.
                    - Their ego's would never allow that sort of behaviour.
                    - The banks would NEVER allow it.
                    - They would be the laughing stock of the business community.
                    - The banks would NEVER allow it.
                    - They reputation would suffer big time.
                    - They would lose money.
                    - The banks would NEVER allow it.

You think that Waconia and RBS are complete morons don't you? If they did what you descibe in the above the banks could sell LFC for 150mill £ and take what they need from G&H to cover the rest. It's called collateral and there is absolutely no way G&H could run away from the bill.

what worries Kraft is the fact that there is no upper limit to what a club can spend on transfers, or a cap on salaries.

Otherwise who else can compete with Abramovich when it comes to spending money. Not even DIC would throw cash at Liverpool the way we think they would.

Liverpool FC is a business and has to be run so.

                        I don't think I am.

About what? The possibility of a DIC bid or Gillett and Hicks's high risk strategy?
                        .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

The latter. I don't think we will see DIC in the picture for quite a while.

I think we're potentially in very deep doodoo.

We're one bad season or even just one bad result or decision away from ruin. Say we fail to make the CL one year - then as far I can see we're not going to make £30m to cover interest repayments, a player or two gets sold to cover them, the squad gets weaker, we fail to get into the CL again...Vicious circle.

I have no faith that these two won't asset strip us if they can make a decent return from it rather than gambling on success.

It's happened before at lots of clubs but for far lower sums of money - Wimbledon selling off their ground springs to mind.

I understand your concern. I just think that they will get much less in return if they dilute the squad compared to whatever they might need to invest to keep it competitive.

But you know where I stand on this so I'll leave it there

I'm not just that worried anymore. If G&H can't pay the interest then they will sell up. It wouldn't look good if they started to sell off players or the tea lady to raise the money.

Not many other companies would do business with them after that.
