I think the problem with Lucas is that he doesn't really have a position, he isn't suited to the Mascherano role or the Gerrard role and he's a different type of player to Alonso but trying to play the same role as a back up to Alonso. As Alonso's replacement it is the absence of Alonso that people notice and this is why he gets so much stick IMO

He's bloody awful! Only 21 and is developing my arse! He brings nothing to the team other than piss poor passing, fouls and getting caught in posession. Why is he getting a game when we have youngsters who have showed a lot more promise like Spearing and Plessis?

One good game against Newcastle (who i would have looked good against) does not make him "one for the future".

I really don't rate Lucas. We would be better getting rid of Lucas and making a 'Gary-Mac-like-signing'. I hope I can get away with that description without elaborating.

We need a little boost right about now for a title push - an experienced 'attackingly-intelligent' old midfield pro could be the tonic.
