Craig, i answered your question with a question, as it highlights my point...it's all well and good for you to hand over £680 that we all know for certain will go straight to the club, yet people would have an issue IF i bought a replica shirt, the money from which might not ever see the club coffers.
Just because you buy the shirt from JJB doesn't mean that the club don't make any money from it. Part of the profits from each shirt will be distributed between the manufacturer and the people who own the intelectual rights them i.e The Club

If replica shirts only created income by selling from the club shop then surely you'd expect to see a club shop in every city around the world

There are ways to show your support for the club without having to have the latest shirt
We managed to rectify it, though, because it now says, "Cook" where it once said "Cock", and "Pass" where it once said "Piss", so it’s slightly less rude.

The club WILL profit from shirt sales

The club will profit from anything that bears the Liverpool FC name, and is legally licensed

Anything that is 'Official' means that whoever make it, does so under licence from Liverpool FC, and they don't just give that right away for free
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"
There's no water round here stupid, should have stayed where it was wet

If you're not bothered about giving them money, just say so.

It seems bizarre to me that someone simply cant seem to live without a shirt.

This is rich, coming from a man who is going to continue buying his season ticket...stand by your principles and give up the ticket...who cares if someone else might buy it (not necessarily the case, if the Mancs situation is anything to go by), at least you won't be lining their pockets. Practice what you preach.

It leaves a sour taste in the mouth, to be honest and it doesnt sit right with me to hand over £680.

do we sell out on season tickets and have a waiting list (the lenght of is debatable though)?

do we sell all shirts and have a waiting list?

the two are slightly different. I get your point but when buying a season ticket its hugely likely that someone else will. (i mention again how we need a proper campaign to achieve this not a couple of people not buying STs as others will just do it.)

if you dont buy your shirt i doubt that someone else will. I know i cant prove it.

What i cant understand is why your so against not buying a shirt.

leaving the preaching by those who buy season tickets why is it so hard not to buy a shirt?

It ain't hard...you'll already note that i said if push came to shove, i'd get a replica. My question was originally to do with how the club stands to gain if we buy through a different retailer...Fierce seems to think that not only do we receive what, £10 million a year from Adidas upfront, but also a little bit extra for every shirt sold, which seems debateable...surely part of that sponsership deal is the right to print replica shirts, or the purchase of a license if you will.

My point it i would rather buy straight from a retailer, cash, than over the net, pretty simple really.

The club DOES make more money, the more shirts that are sold.

Yes, but, Adidas won't be happy, and it would have an effect on the deal they offer, maybe even clauses as to how many shirts lfc need to sell to get the full whack, probably not, but it would mean Adidas would need to think about the fee paid to the club if shirts don't sell while under this ownership, it's all extra pressure.
