so we should be buying more?Originally posted by Havors View Postyeah lets boycott matches and merchandise and make the clubs problems even worse....
i know it feels wrong but the train of thought is that if the club does worse financially they will struggle to service the debt and this will make a sale more likely.
its not foolproof i admit.
what do you think we should do any suggestions welcome. remember they have to be legal

Carry on the path we are on, it's not about if the club will implode, it's when. Better to put the squeeze on so the Yanks can no longer bleed us dry and accelerate us into administration and/ or sale before we are slowly killed off over the next couple of years or so.3rd place. Worst champions ever.

each to their own, really. i'm against boycotting games because it does hurt the team.Originally posted by Marsh View Postso we should be buying more?

refuse to buy official merchandise and wear protest shirts instead on match days and whenever you feel like it. stage protests before and after games. but concentrate on supporting the lads on the pitch during games. god knows they need us more than ever.
and btw, i can't help but feel that a lot of people revel in the negativity that's surrounding us at the moment.

Why would a boycott of a game hurt the team? It's a peaceful way to protest, to bring attention to an issue. The players aren't stupid, well...most of them aren't! They would back the boycott if it helped to increase negative media attention towards the owners.Originally posted by fred_plasticine View Posteach to their own, really. i'm against boycotting games because it does hurt the team.

I find it strange that you love your marches at SOS but baulk at trying the one thing that would really make a difference.
I am not saying it will work but it needs to be tried. If we try to organise it and then it looks like it not getting anywhere we say ok we tried that and it didnt work.
its difficult yes but it shouldnt stop us trying.
if i can respond ...
we're trying to promote a boycott of the auto cup scheme and the impact that this might have on the clubs finances first
the next stage may be a game boycotted but like i said in my initial reply
a lot will depend on whether Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish gets the job ... the mood will probably change quite drastically initially and a match boycott again may be tough to implement (again see the reasons why in my first post)
and finally you mentioned 'my love of marches' ... believe me ,love is a very loose term there
i have always done it out of necessity and duty... love wouldn't be a word i'd associate with demonstrating

The thing is marches wont achieve anything so all it sort of does it allows people to say at least i am doing something, well if its not having an effect whats the point? its just vanity.Originally posted by merlboo View Postif i can respond ...

i know its easier than organising something more meaningful.
it does look impossible though so i will get back in my box.

Obviously it's your choice but my advice would be to buy your ticket. You never know in 3 months time the situation could have turned around completely.Originally posted by Craig_H View PostI probably am actually Scratch.
It leaves a sour taste in the mouth, to be honest and it doesnt sit right with me to hand over £680.
I fully support an initiative not to buy merchandise and to not turn up at games but I think losing your season ticket is a hell of a price to pay.
I returned to the area 16 years ago and have been on the ST waiting list since. I get tickets to most games via the membership scheme but I would jump at the chance of buying one.
