Don't see any reason why the first team lads - Carra, Johnson, Cole, Gerrard, Kuyt and co can't play a part tomorrow night.

At the end of the day the Arsenal game will only be 10 days away come tomorrow hence a bit more match fitness is required.

There are tickets left but as Cole will be making his debut, there may be a bit of a last minute rush on..

This will also be Liverpool's No.10 first competitive start for the club and he will be joined in the starting line-up by captain Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Glen Johnson and another home debutant Milan Jovanovic.

Roy Hodgson prepared for his Anfield debut as Liverpool manager on Wednesday and warned his biggest names he will not tolerate any repeat of the blame culture that contributed to last season's failings.

The former Fulham boss has presented a smiling face for most of his five weeks in charge so far but made it clear he will not shy away from confronting issues head on, as he savoured stepping out in front of the Kop for the first time tonight.

Fernando Torres frequently cut a frustrated figure last season, and finally went public with his view that Liverpool were 'four or five' players short of being a top side, while Steven Gerrard's frustration was also apparent during a run-in that almost cost them a Europa League place.

This season, Hodgson will be ready to turn the tables on anyone sulking by bluntly telling them the answer lies with themselves.

In a message that had echoes of Rafa Benitez's call for senior players to take more responsibility, midway through last season, Hodgson said: 'I have never made any
remarks about Fernando's motivation and, to be fair, I believe that on Wednesday he was very clear about his motivation to be here.

'I think people on the outside will have more sympathy than I have with players saying they are frustrated at a perceived lack of progress. The reason is obvious enough. As a player you have a chance to change things.

'If you don't think the team are doing as well as they should, then you've got the chance to do something about it. That applies to any player. If you are a big player, then it applies all the more. My advice to them will be to look in the mirror.'
New arrival: Denmark's World Cup star Christian Poulsen (right) is on his way to Liverpool in a £5.5m deal which should clear the way for Mascherano to leave

With typical modesty, the 62-year-old will shun any fanfares and head straight for his seat on the bench, against Europa League opponents Rabotnicki.

'It's about the guys who pull on the jersey, not me. If the fans can see you are sending out players who are prepared to work their socks off, they will warm to you. I'll settle for that. It will take away any desire to try to milk the occasion.'

Torres has not yet been ruled out of Liverpool's Barclays Premier League opener with Arsenal but will play no part tonight. Gerrard is expected to start, while Joe Cole and Milan Jovanovic will make their home debuts.

Meanwhile, Hodgson confirmed Christian Poulsen's imminent £5.5million arrival in a move that should clear the way for Javier Mascherano's departure to Inter Milan.

Poulsen's agent Joern Bonnesen was discussing personal terms with Anfield officials after Liverpool agreed a fee with Juventus for a player who first made his mark under Hodgson at FC Copenhagen a decade ago.

Mascherano is expected to link up again with Benitez at the San Siro, once Inter have raised the necessary funds by selling Mario Balotelli to Manchester City.

'If we receive a big offer, and it is a club Javier wants to go to, it is going to be very difficult keeping him here,' added Hodgson.

Got a ticket in the kop end yeiiii!!!

I know it's not much of a game but I'm going to be making the most of it seen as I very rarely get to see them or get to sit in the kop.

            Looking forward to it.

Despite holding an adavantage he may expect to keep Roy Hodgson will select from a strong squad for the 2nd leg of Liverpool's Europa League qualifier against Rabotnick Skopje.

Though they may not all feature from the start England World Cup quartet Steven Gerrard, Joe Cole, Jamie Carragher and Glen Johnson are all available.

All gained some kind of run out against Borussia Moenchengladbach over the weekend.

Maxi Rodriguez could also return. Though fit his international colleague Javier Mascherano will not be selected after being omitted from the squad lists submitted to UEFA prior to the opening leg in Macedonia.

Hodgson more or less confirmed some involvement by those to have participated in the World Cup except those serving Spain and Holland who only returned to Melwood this week.

"I will put out the strongest team possible," he said.

"We are stronger on paper than we were in the first game because players that I did not consider using have now played at least 45 minutes on Sunday.

"That gives me a chance to throw them into the game. There are a few that are just back to Melwood after their holidays and we won't be risking them of course.

"If they are senior players and they have been training with us for the last week or so since we got back and the medical people are confident we can use them without prejudicing their future we will use them."

Rabaotnicki are likely to name an unchanged team from the first match.

Coach Zoran Stratev is pessimistic about the chances of progress.

He offered little hope to the travelling fans by saying: "Macedonian football is at this level and I don't think we can do any more - but our fans may hope for something special in the match."

Liverpool from: Cavalieri, Johnson, Carragher, Skrtel, Agger, Aurelio, Aquilani, Gerrard, Jovanovic, Lucas, Cole, Ngog, Spearing, Kelly, Eccleston, Pacheco, Darby, Insua, Rodriguez, Gulacsi, Shelvey

Rabotnicki Skopje: Bogatinov, Belica, Sekulovski (Adem), Dimovski, Todorovski, Gligorov, Tuneski (Petovski), Fernando Lopes, Ze Carlos (Mojsov), Da Silva, Wandeir Unused Substitutes: Kandikijan, Marcio, Mojsov, Roberto Carlos, Sinkovic

                    Referee: Peter Sippell (Germany)

Joe Cole will make his Anfield debut tonight.

Roy Hodgson has confirmed that Cole will make his home debut in tonight's Europa League qualifier second leg and that his fellow England internationals will also start.

"We can play a stronger team this team and Cole, Gerrard, Carragher, Johnson and Jovanovic will all start the game," said the boss.

"A week ago they were definitely not fit and couldn't play but now they are ready.

"We have a lot of players like Cole and Jovanovic who are anxious to show the fans what they are made of and it's a great opportunity for them.

"We also have Pacheco back after a very successful tournament with Spain and he is desperate to show us what a good player he is.

"Agger is injured so won't take part and the other World Cup players who are have only just returned to training won't play."

Didn't take Agger long to get injured did it. Hopefully just a knock

                            I think you could:

Aquilani and Gerrard ahead of a holding player in central midfield with Cole and Pacheco off a central striker. I think that would be a really good formation for a game like this (assuming we play two attacking fullbacks for width).

Im really looking forward to it now. I desperately want to see Pacheco get some good game time though. I hope he isn't a sub.
