No-one really wants to lose today. It's just an index of how much people want rid of The Hodgson.
    .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I'm absolutely going to be roaring the lads on today, but in answering that ridiculous hypothetical question only, I would, in theory, accept one defeat, if it resulted in a guaranteed change of manager. That's how desperate I am to see him gone

I can imagine Roy preparing his excuses for todays performance already.

          Pellegrini please
If Pellegrini can't win a single thing with a squad worth about 400 million quid, he sure as **** won't win **** all with our squad. No thanks. Pellegrini is prob better managing a club with less expectations, sound familiar?

Exactly, Pellegrini had a year with a world class team and some of the most talented players in the world and he literally won **** all, so no thanks. Roy has had a mare under difficult circumstances, but nonetheless a complete mare, and will get until Christmas IMO, and i for one hope he turns it around starting with a win today, nothing else but 3 points will do Roy.

Pellegrini actually set a new club record in points. Just unlucky for him that Barcelona made the best season ever by a Spanish club the same season.

He also got a ridiculously high points total (96) and scored over 100 goals and won all but 7 games.

You can't do much when the league winners get 99 points.

Don't let more than one factor get in the way though Daniel.

Yeah, that criticism of him seems ludicrous to me. Also had to blend the team.

And what did he win Matthew? Wonder why he got the sack, hmmm? When you spend 250 million in a transfer window adding to an already excellent squad you sure as **** better be winning some silverware

He was up against one of the best teams in the history of football.

danperkins you don't half seem to take the most simplistic view possible on things.

What about Champs League, Cups etc? And he did not win the league regardless of the points total, it is irrelevent.

Pellegrini did a good job in his one season at Real (to say he didn't purely because he didn't win anything is utterly myopic) and did a great job at Villarreal. His teams play fantastic football, and has displayed greater credentials for the LFC job in his last two jobs than Hodgson ever has.
