Daniel Pacheco's Spain were knocked out of the Under 20's World Cup last night.

Spain were beaten by Brazil, 4-2 on penalties after a 2-2 draw, in the quarter-final of the Under 20's World Cup.

Pacheco was a subsitute for Spain but was introduced at the start of extra-time. He did not take a penalty in the shoot-out.

Think he has done more harm than good going to this U20 thing. I bet the Club would have loved him here to see what he could do over the summer.
      *Except Michael, who died.

I dunno. If Maxi can't get a look in I don't see how Pacheco would.

I don't think he's really valued by the club. I suspect they'd rather have him in the shop window tbh.

Looks like he might be off on Loan for the season

Spanish starlet set to return to his homeland on season-long loan

Liverpool youngster Dani Pacheco looks poised to join Spanish outfit Rayo Vallecano on a season-long loan.

Sources close to the Primera Liga outfit claim a deal is almost done and that the promising forward will return to his homeland on a deal that will run until June 2012.

It is claimed that the 20-year-old will arrive in Madrid for a medical on Monday and to complete the relevant paperwork.

A number of clubs are reported to have contacted Liverpool this summer regarding a possible transfer, with permanent and short-term agreements discussed.

Pacheco, though, has had the final say in where he ends up, with it important for him to get games.

He believes he will get the opportunities he craves at Rayo Vallecano and considers them to be the best choice for his career.

The youngster revealed back in July that he was prepared to leave Liverpool in order to find regular football.

He hinted that a return to Spain would be his preferred choice, and it appears as though he may be about to get his wish.

Pacheco said at the time: "Above all, I want to play and if I have to leave to do that then there will be no problem.

"Some day I would like to return home. If it happens, it happens."

Pacheco took in a loan spell at Norwich last season, scoring two goals in six appearances as the Canaries secured promotion out of the Championship.

If he goes to Spain on a loan that is probably the end of him. Next year we'll be looking to sell.

It's good that he's going on loan somewhere where he is likely to get games to help his development. I would have prefered him to go on loan to an English club if possible. I do wonder if this makes him leaving next summer more likely.

He needs games, good move for him. I look forward to seeing how he progresses in La Liga.

                        It's odd.

He was half decent for norwich last season, he'd clearly prefer a move back to spain as Im sure Norwich or another prem newboy club would take a punt on him

I'm not sure they would I think he's much more highly rated in Spain than he is here, Norwich didn't want him, I think that the newly promoted clubs are more likely to want experienced Premiership players rather than youngsters who are developing.
