Suarez found guilty last Friday. The 4 days since have been used to explore every possible legal consequence. FA have been v diligent.
Worth noting this bloke is a total clown.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Clubs all agree, via signed documentation, to respect the footballing authorities authority on all matters football and not to take footballing issues to 'normal' courts. Incidentally, this is what FC Sion are now doing, regarding their elimination from European competition by Uefa. Hence why FIFA is threatening to ban Switzerland and all Swiss clubs from competition if the Swiss FA do not act against Sion for taking the issue away from the footballing environment and onto a court of standard law and order.
We can appeal and then take it to the The Court of Arbitration for Sport for a final ruling, however Suarez can take private action to the UK courts under restraint of trade

Trouble for FIFA is that they are based in Switzerland and are basically saying that if the Swiss FA do not breach a court ruling of a Swiss then they will be punished. Might try and bully clubs but they can't bully the law.

Not sure how it works as FIFA is apparently a non-profit organisation and cannot be sued but I would imagine the Swiss Authorities have the power to strip that right if they are encouraging whatever the swiss equivalent of contempt of court is.

The ban is though. And it's a governmental adudication based on what happened during a game on the field of play. I'd say that makes it fall under FA durisdiction.

How do things like the Bosman ruling come in to play then?

Maybe the club can't - but Suarez himself can? Would fit in with the following words from our statement:

and we will provide Luis with whatever support he now needs to clear his name.
                  Hello mert.

We're not in Europe though, so we don't lose out. We'll make things up to them by the start of next season if we have qualified for Euro competition.

Something like that...........but Liverpool can apply the whole restricting the rights of individuals etc etc etc etc if they did want to go down that route.
There's a very good reason why football authorities don't want to be brought to bear in a court of law.

And we would also like to know when the FA are going to charge Patrice Evra for challenging the integrity of one of their own officials when Evra claimed he was only getting booked because he is black.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

                          Great statement from the club.

Terry must be facing several months banned then, if not longer.

Absolute disgrace of a punishment, but I suspected they'd do this.
