Huh?Originally posted by merlboo View PostSo whats been happening the last 2 and a half years then ? What have the high powered experienced persons in our club within this process been doing in that time to move the Stadium Issue on to a spade in the ground ?
Oh . They've got other interests Stateside . I nearly forgot that
We're up to point 4, with points 5, 6, 7, 8 and 9 in progress...
- Cost / benefit analysis to determine whether new stadium or Anfield refurb is more viable
- Search for sponsor to fund new stadium development in tandem with point 1
- Work with council and others to determine the limitations / constraints of expanding Anfield (right to light etc) in tandem with point 1
- Decision made to expand anfield
- Detailed architectural designs (in progress I guess)
- Integrate with detailed community development plan (in progress)
- Integrate with detailed transport plan (in progress)
- Buy up remaining required properties (in progress)
- Submit planning application (in progress I guess)
- Await planning approval (tbc)
- Multi stage development (one stand at a time) (tbc)
Oh I don't know.

Seriously, can you not see the flaws in your argument? You want to be the best team, the most successful team but you don't want to pay extra to watch a game. Where do you think the money will come from?
Heaven forbid that we actually got owners who built a new stadium straight away, pumped in a load of money to the team, lowered prices. What would SOS moan about next?
716% over 23 years . How can your argument stand up to that ?

Stuff like that doesnt help your cause. It just makes it seem like you dislike FSG because they are American. I doubt that is what you actually think. But its certainly how it comes across.Originally posted by merlboo View Post

You seem to me too have lumped FSG in with H+G. Which is obviously not the case.*Except Michael, who died.

You missed 12 .
We stop at 10 . No spade in the ground and FSG move on selling us at a reasonable / healthy profit after 5 years and little of the CL football cash cow which they'd originally been roped in by .
That scenario can't be discounted either

On ticket prices - a 700% rise would mean a season ticket in 1989 was about £100
£100 for a 21 game season. Less than £5.00 per game. Football may be expensive now but as far as I can see it was very cheap 20 years ago. I'm not surprised it has gone up so quickFootball without Origi is nothing

I'm not discounting it. I have not included it because there is no evidence to suggest that this is what is happening. You asked me what progress has been made in 2 and a half years, and I have answered your question based on what has been communicated by the club to date.Originally posted by merlboo View PostPlaying devils advocate .

Whereas you appear to be concluding that your point 12 is somehow inevitable.
Btw, have you noticed that I am more than happy to answer your questions and actually engage in a debate? :wink:Oh I don't know.

And there is no reason to think that will happen either. You're just being petty.Originally posted by merlboo View PostPlaying devils advocate .

They won't be making much of a return in 5 years time looking at the losses we make currently and if they don't invest to get us into the CL. Fact is they are investing, they are backing the managers, people who should have known better wasted a whole lot of money they were given by FSG. You shouldn't be laying all the problems we currently face at their door.Originally posted by merlboo View PostPlaying devils advocate .

Bearing in mind the money wasted early in their regime, they won't be making a return for a very long time I'd say

Until the spade goes in the ground then we can't sit on our laurels can we ?Originally posted by Mattshark View PostAnd there is no reason to think that will happen either. You're just being petty.
Or should we take all of the press releases which say a lot but don't tell us anything as gospel and pretend everything's rosy
