What about the salary cap for players? Don't you think that would be a more fundamental driver for reduced ticket prices and reduced cost of going to a match? Is that on the agenda...protest at player wages? How much has the average wage gone up at the club in the last 23 years?

I think what's closer to the truth is SOS enjoyed the prominence they gained in the H&G era and now, like quite a few others, want to remain in the limelight. Maybe I'm wrong
Prominence doesn't come into it .
    A 716% rise does .

I seem to remember Barnes was reputed to be the highest paid player in English football at £8k a week. I'm pretty sure that was in the early Nineties but let's say it was also true in 1989.

Suárez is on £100k a week.

That's a 1250% increase. And I imagine Gerrard is on more than that. And neither of them are anywhere near the highest paid player in English football.
      .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Don't be sensible Neil and look at the whole argument.

Simply put, SoS don't like the price rises and want to make a fuss.

No, I was referring to the point that Rich and I made about player wage inflation and the impact on the team of not keeping up with it. It has nothing to do with who can or can't attend matches.
          Oh I don't know.

You're ignoring wage inflation then. Players wages are one of the biggest costs at a football club. Put a cap on them and you'd surely see the ticket prices come down. Salary caps have been talked about for a quite a time now.

Neil, thanks for answering the query on wage increase. Conveniently ignored here

Rich said explicitly about those who don't go the game .

I take it the increases don't or wouldn't impact on a fair number on here then ?

That's why I mentioned a poll / survey might be the best way to see who attends all . Who attends some and who doesn't or can't attend any games . That's give us some perspective on the posters differing standpoints .

Yes, you have picked on one small point in a much wider ranging post, and you're still not answering any of the questions I have put to you. But that's fine. I'm not expecting you to.

As I suggested before, why don't you start a poll on here? It's actually quite easy.
                  Oh I don't know.

Most of the Premier teams have similar situations I'd imagine . It's upto their own fans to do their own analysis and call their own clubs out should they feel their own ticket prices are too exorbitant and unsustainable then .

                      OK, let's put this simply.

Would you have preferred lower ticket prices, and therefore lower player wages at LFC in the past 20 years, with the specific effect that we would have ended up with a significantly weaker squad in that time?
                      Oh I don't know.

It'd probably be good to see who you're all talking too beyond the ticket prices should a poll be conducted

                        1. Are you a season tkt holder .
                        2. Are you a fan card holder .
3 How many home league games on average do you attend each season ?
                        4. Do you attend any away games
                        5. How many away league games on average do you attend each season ?
                        6. Do you attend home cup matches
                        7. Do you attend away cup matches

We haven't won the league in that time so I'm not sure that makes your point any stronger .

How about if all of the other teams brought their own prices into the same bracket .

Oh , I forgot , that's your idea of capitalism coming to the fore again isn't it
