I just don't think we have the players for 4-3-3 yet. What I found strange was Rodgers talking about using 4-2-3-1 in his pre-match interview on Sky against Swansea. It doesn't appear that way at all. He can change the system and still use the same style of play until he brings in his kind of player.

I'd love to see Sahin and Allen in the holding two with Allen advancing, as well as having Gerrard in the attacking areas. Sahin is best in a deeper position with the ball alongside a ball winner in my opinion. Even if Allen isn't the best at ball-winning, he is pretty good at pressing.
I think Allen is a very good ball-winner. Rodgers said the other day that he has played twice as many games as this time last season. That is a hell of a step up for someone like Allen. I think if he is rotated effectively then we'll get the best out of him. He proved early on his ability to win the ball but I reckon fatigue has set in and the determination is still there but the body just isn't doing the work.

nice and zippy, good variation, smashing all the poor teams for a change.
very refreshing to see all the team taking a share of the work and doing a shift, long may it continue.

qpr and sunderland didnt close down our players and this allowed us more time on the ball. lets hope our lads come through the next few more competitive games with a decent performance and healthy points return.

My updated quadrant charts coming up. Now show positions after 10 games & 21 games. Also highlight significant movement & points of note

MUFC still in best position but Reading, Sunderland & Stoke all grim, low chances, low quality pic.twitter.com/0ax1TmDq

Quad chart 3) Clear Chances and Defensive Errors (The 2 metrics that have the biggest influence on results) #EPL

          Dan Kennett ‏@DanKennett

Villa are in the nightmare position of low good chances but high errors. LFC and Arsenal far too many errors.
          Dan Kennett ‏@DanKennett

No surprise to see United and City in best overall position but Chelsea and Everton also in a good place

One other comment is that last chart raised some concerns from me on data collection. Far too much movement from right to left generally

Me neither its one for the statistics men.

Form what I gather when we **** up we **** up big time and the other team score and we have now started creating better chances and converting them over the last 10 games

i will take your word as regards the diagram interpretation

defo good to see some better variation to our build up.
the pissy passy style just allows other teams to drop back and we cannot play through them. a bit of a faster build up, some longer balls played fast keept the oppo's guessing and us scoring. yeah

The Liverpool way has always been as per my sig....

We just need to do it more!

That must be how it feels to be a fan watching a team who plays like we did against Sunderland every time they are on the pitch.

Has anyone else noticed that we seem to be a bit more direct these days. The fear of playing the long pass has somewhat dissipated imo. There's still plenty of short passing of course, but it doesn't seem to be the be all and end all anymore. And it is yielding some success.
                            Oh I don't know.

It's all still a learning process. The players are getting to know Rodgers and Rodgers is getting o know the players, everything will click into place eventually.

Don't think we're playing more long balls, but Carra played yesterday ...
                                Are we winning?
