Class player that I'm sure we'd find a way to fit him in (Coutinho dropping deeper or central) but no chance of us getting him. Talking about it will only end up depressing us

One half decent but injury prone CB in Matip. One FB playing in a new position, doing reasonably well but not a long term solution and Clyne who is steady eddie but limited in an attacking sense. The rest are not up to standard. The likes of Gomez has potential but isn't yet ready. As for the central midfield spine it is plainly obvious to just about everyone that we need a proper enforcer in centre mid to shield the lot and stop these ridiculous 50 yard run ins on goal

That Demarai Gray for Leicester looks quality. Worth a shout.

wasnt sure where to put this.....

I had a few hours to spare so been reading a couple of tomkins articles.

Although they above list is subjective what really struck me is how young our squad is specially taking into account in the summer if Sturridge and Lucas go.

I really think we need to target some more established players who have cooler heads as the youngsters lose theirs. As i have mentioned before players with a winning mentality but have experienced the lows as well.

Can't believe Markovic gets a better score than Manninger.

Obviously Tompkinson has made a silly mistake in the players name.

Easy done, after all he doesn't write for a living does he?

What he meant to write was the lads full name: Edson Arantes Do Woodbine

He's a bit optimistic that Tompkins. But even by that measure Gomez is turning into the most hyped around the internet. Ojo, Ejaria and Grujic are generous as well. And Sturridge should get about a 3 on a good day.

sack them all, make them eat the same dog**** they expect us to have to swallow.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

I say again what style of play? We don't have one, nobody ever knows what Liverpool side will show up on the day.

That's because this squad is full of losers. I've said it for over a year now. We lose just when we're on the cusp of something big, and we have too many in the side, who don't have the mentality to make the step up on a consistent basis.

Under Benitez, we knew what to expect from the likes of Arbeloa, Agger, Mascherano, Kuyt, Alonso, Gerrard, Torres, Reina, Carragher, Hyypia, Aurelio, Riise, Benayoun etc, when they played.

Like I said in the Klopp thread, Benitez focused heavily on mentality when recruiting players. Since he left, we seem to be more focused on stats on the pitch, but what about the context in which those players obtained those stats?

I hate to say it, but look at Mourinho with Man Utd. He knew exactly what he needed in that side - mentally strong players to form a spine. Bailly, Pogba, Mkhitaryan, Ibrahimovic. Of course, they're top players, which requires a lot of money, but they're so tough in their heads, it's unreal.

After this run of form, I'm back to the notion of a mass exodus of players. It needs refreshing, and Klopp isn't a miracle maker.

                          Who do u keep?

                          For me...

Mig can go...been here long enough not good enough
Karius...stays, saved by the fact he is young and not been here long

Clyne...stays, dependable enough and in a decent side would do a job
Taa...stays young potential to give us cover

Lovren...just about stays but only as 3/4 choice
Matip...stays but needs a quality partner
Gomez...stays but it's time he stepped up and starting featuring more
                          Klavan....sell
                          Lucas....time to go

                          Moreno....brain dead. Sell
Milner.....never ever a left back but prob stays as he is experienced, solid pro, who has a bit of versatility...that said argument we need two left backs, and use Milner as a backup midfielder

Henderson...stays, but take the armband of him
Can....would not be bothered to see him go
Wijnaldum....I'd say he prob stays just cause we only recently signed him but he should be cover not first choice
                          Stewart...see ya
                          Lallana...stays

Coutinho...in previous years I've dreaded losing our best players....I'd prefer him to stay but I have to say I'd be tempted if a massive bid came in
Firminho....probably scraps it in but he's never ever a ****ing centre forward
Mane...only one who walks into next season
Origi....his age may just save but he needs a rocker up his arse and fast
                          Sturbridge....gone
                          Ings....sadly gone I'd imagine

The youngsters are safe....I'd guess the majority of people out on loan are goners

There's arguments there for about 8-10 players leaving

Regardless we clearly need for the first team

                          Gk
                          Cb
                          Lb
                          Cm
                          Cf

And many people would say another

                          CB
                          FB
                          Cm
                          WF

                          To fill out the squad
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

its piss poor. when we are playing a decent team who come to have a go then so long as we are at 100% with everyone peaking then we look very decent doing the pressing thing.

we dont have the speed, with the exception of mane, to play proper counter attacking football. leicester only had vardy to run against us and that was good enough to win the ball and score or hold it until team mates could get in and around the box. so with just one speed merchant they managed to undo us, yet we rarely fully utilize mane's pace with the right type of counter attacking pass for him to run on to.

ask yourself this, how many players would we take from the following teams...
burnley, bournemouth, swansea, hull, southampton, wolves, leicester.
they might have the odd decent player, but as a group they come to play us and are more up for it, more aggressive and beef, better organised and work to a plan to get the best from their team. the overall result means that they are able to get more out of their team than we are.

does this mean they are better than us?
the league position would say they are not, but recent form suggests we are losing our way a bit. too many players getting contract extensions and not too arsed about turning up on the pitch...
maybe these 'lesser' teams can only do it against us because we are a team of fannies and just too one dimensional, easy to read, easy to play against.

why cant we be a little more expansive and attacking in our play. its not just lack of pace...
we get the ball and no one wants to take it forward, no other player runs along side in support. the passes often go sideways or backwards. if they pass the ball forwards they then run away so are no longer an option for their team mate.
too many guys seem more concerned about their own stats and completed [safe] passes than actually trying to open the other team up.
maybe stats will be the way to win in the near future, hence or recruitment of the arcade game messiah.

jurgen, time to grab some of these gimps by the bollocks and drag a performance out of them.
and also have a good look at yourself... you didnt want to spend in january, fair enough as there isnt many world class players available. but would a world class player even be arsed coming to us. i dont see too many world class players at the teams listed above yet they might be made up of guys who have more balls and character than some of our fancy face cream wearing cross dressers who seem to want to hide when they are on the pitch.
we dont need world class players, we need some ****ing men who will stand up and be ready for a scrap.

watching us getting undone and played off the park by a team that hasnt been able to win all year really cuts deep.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
