It boils down to basic risk management. Identify the risks, then find out what you can do to minimise them, then implement a balanced strategy to deal with them.

BR often refers to it as a project. As did Rafa. Might as well go the whole hog.
      Oh I don't know.

They didn't have more possession. Where did you see that? If you're looking at BBC stats, they are inaccurate.
          Are we winning?

Ok, let's baseline this and concentrate on hitting the milestones. I suggest a toll gate call in a month to check the status.

Again? FFS, I'm getting seriously pissed off with MOTD.

They got the stats wrong for another of our games (and these are the only two where I've even bothered comparing their stats with anyone else's), Shearer's terrible comparison of Gerrard and Allen, the refusal to analyse Halsey's terrible penalty decision against Man City, condemning the 'proven diver' Luis Suárez but laughing off the dive by that 'good lad' Gareth Bale (with most yellows last season for diving), that ****** Lawrenson... It makes me bonker.
              .
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

Article looking at why Liverpool are conceding so many of late and what can be done to improve the situation.

To summarise: It's because we don't have a consistent back four, followed by snippets of what people have posted in here (individual mistakes, lack of cover and the space behind the advanced full-backs).

And we don't need two defensive midfielders to cover the space from two attacking full-backs, we just need to plug the side that the opposition are attacking on, our other midfielder to track any run from deep and hold up the play sufficiently to allow our most most advanced midfielder to make up numbers.

Not aimed in anyway at your direction mattydalton - thanks for posting the link - but it's a tad weak.

It's refreshing to read an article that hasn't been clunged in stats, but based primarily on observation.
It's a rarity to find given that people have now developed an unhealthy obssession with stats just because our owners are wet for them.

                              I enjoyed it anyway.

I am sure many have observed many of the points I have made. We all watch the same matches after all...

I don't think we need to play 2 defensive midfielders, but at times our midfielders need to be aware of the space around them.
