I think it’s very important that Arsenal don’t win the Europa League. It seems to have just passed by the wayside that they’ve signed two legitimately great players in the summer, and with Champions League on offer, would still be an attractive destination for the couple or of key players they need to make them a force again.

It bailed out United last season to an extent - before the rot really set in.
And losing that final set us back a bit (compared to if we had won it).Oh I don't know.

Yes, in the short term but the win would have papered over the cracks & where would we be now?Originally posted by dom9 View PostAgreed.

In hindsight, it did us a favour as it shown Klopp that the majority of the players in that squad simply weren't good enough so major surgery had to be carried out in the long term which is the status quo for the position we are in at the moment.
2018/2019 season is gonna be something else!Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

Or a different way of looking at it might be that Champions League football would have to attract a better class of player that summer.Originally posted by Angryred View PostYes, in the short term but the win would have papered over the cracks & where would we be now?

Who knows. Either way, we're back in the Champions League groove now, but it could have been earlier.Oh I don't know.

I don’t think Klopp is that stupid to be fooled by one extra good performance by those who were underperforming. He was with the players long enough to know their strengths & weaknesses.Originally posted by Angryred View PostYes, in the short term but the win would have papered over the cracks & where would we be now?

Aye, was a bit of a strange comment indeed. Better off for losing a European final?Originally posted by SB View PostI don’t think Klopp is that stupid to be fooled by one extra good performance by those who were underperforming. Just had a quick look, the only player we let go that summer that played in the final against Seville was Kolo, whos contract was up anyway. Win, lose or draw, certain player's cards were marked.
Also, look at the difference in the players we were linked to or signed that summer compared to this.
In saying that, we probably wouldn't have Mo here now under different circumstances.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Like I said, in hindsight...Of course certain players had their cards marked prior to that match & what happened in that final, was the final nail in the coffin for them!Originally posted by RedReet View PostAye, was a bit of a strange comment indeed. Better off for losing a European final?

Can you imagine if we had won the final?(Would have loved if we won it!)...would those players be given a stay of execution?...Like you said, under different circumstances...Nope, don't need anger management, you just need to stop pissing me off!

I don't see anyone beating Athletico Madrid, I think they would be a nightmare for Arsenal the way they set up but I suppose you never know. The incentive for winning the Europa is huge now... hopefully Arsenal don't do that as it would be nice to seen them decline.Originally posted by Phoenix07 View PostI wouldn't be so sure regarding Arsenal and the Europa League. It pisses me off how we had by far the toughest route to the final, but until they're dumped out, they could win it and keep themselves relevant.
It would be massive if we can secure CL football again, and Arsenal miss out. With Klopp as our manager, exciting attacking football, and top players too, with another top player set to join (Keita), we could be on the brink of securing the foundations of being a top team.

Their game in hand is Burnley away mid week after their next game away to in form new manager bounce Southampton. Could be all done within 10 days, they are definitely on the slide
Even with recent injuries we actually look in not bad shape
Clyne back
Klav Back
Milner playing out of his skin right now
Hendo looking every inch a Liverpool FC Captain right now
Mane Salah Boby
Robo looking amazing
Gini played a blinder in the holding mid
Ox really pushing on and making the mid field place his own right now
We are in really good shapeAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015
