If justified pens were given for contact and not the actions of the player that was fouled I think we’d see less of it; takes the refs doing their jobs properly which is where it all falls down
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Stop it mate. It didn't hurt him enough to step up and smash it in. It was 100% a non natural movement. Why are some fans so blinkered towards their own.

I’ve just looked at it. He kicked up as he was swivelling the other way and it hurt. Held his ankle straight away. It was a foul. Are you Danny Murphy?

Look can you read? I have not said it wasn't a foul. Nowhere. I'm saying for the last ****ing time that salah made a massive meal of it. A pure ****ing elaborated unnatural diving movement. I'm also saying lots of others players do similar. I also think they are cunts for doing so. I understand why they do it. It helps turn a nothing tap on the ankle into something the ref feels has to be a pen. It works. Doesn't mean it's right. It's all about winning. The respect for your fellow player has gone. I was always taught to stay on your feet, if that means you don't get a pen so be it. I'd feel ashamed to cheat a fellow player personally. Would leave a bad taste. But if everyone else does it you can't expect us to not do similar. Just a shame the game has come to this. But then every aspect of the game I grew up loving has changed beyond belief. Don't worry I cheered the pen, we needed it. I'm not losing sleep or despairing as that went out of the window years ago. Relax mate. He dived.

Never a dive for me but let’s leave it at that before this descends in a full blown brawl.

We absolutely controlled and managed a West Ham side, which caused loads of problems for City last week.

I'm a bit surprised that we're still willing us to go at teams straight away and blow them away. Not gonna happen. Thiago was probably brought in to give us this added control in our passing.

As soon as we decided to shift the gears up (helped by Jota and Shaq), we steered away and should have maybe scored more.
We didn't control the game until the last 20 mins, up until then were were lethargic and predictable. West Ham concede possession, sit deep and break, that's the way they play and it worked a treat for most of the game and seems to be the way they will set up this season average 30% possession in games is not unusual for them.

The slowness imo was simply slowness, we just played poorly up until 70 mins or so. As soon as Jota and Shaq came on we had a different dimension, a player that can pick a pass through tight spaces with 3 willing runners ahead of him. We played poorly and we won

Nigel on his usual wind up. Nothing to see here same ****, different day.

Haven’t you even thought that we’re maybe conserving energy, keeping the ball and injecting pace when we need it? We won so many games like this over the past two years. It’s not about winning games playing at our best all the time. It never was. We have a game on Tuesday and it’s every 3 days until the end of the season more or less.

IMO we just weren't playing well, it happens.

It happens all the time and we still win.

Because we are a brilliant team but for a majority of yesterdays game we simply played ****, wouldn't read into it we just didn't play well is all. I don't think we managed the game, were conserving energy or anything like that, just that we were pretty **** until the two lads came on and gave us something that was lacking on the pitch up until then.

"conserving energy" and being deliberately **** until they got tired

I listened to the game without coms yesterday. I must admit I felt we were always in control against a much better West Ham team than normal. Hendo is key, he controls things with attack and defensive shape and we looked good but without creating a lot.

By the time the subs came on we were starting to ware them down and I mentioned that West Ham needed a flawless 25 or so mins in defence and wondered if they had that in them.

                            They didn’t.

I recall Man U teams winning games like that for years. Not looking amazing, but never looking in trouble.

                            A champions performance

Also, remember the time we’d gone about 4 years without coming back from being a goal down! We seem to begin every game a goal down these days.
                            Modifying post.

You said we were ****, not me.

We weren’t good against Sheffield and in the CL midweek, but not yesterday.
