This team has given us some great moments but looking at us tonight there are a few players who are past their best, have just dropped off in quality for one reason or another or just aren't good enough. It seems clear that we haven't strengthened when we needed to and getting us back to a level where we can compete with City is getting a bigger and bigger task.
I know we were missing our best player but it feels like Salah is carrying us alot at the moment, if his agents want something to show why he's worth paying the money, today performance is a good startThe only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

It's a ticking time bomb.Originally posted by Kenneth View PostEven with him we have that kind of game in us. Our other ‘first names on the team sheet’ players are on the wane now. It’s the midfield predominantly imo. Hendo is too slow and too old (same for Milner), but Bobby also looks done too. Maybe it is burnout, I don’t really know. But needing a rebuild job towards of a manager’s tenure is not a great situation.

Too many passengers.
A player receives the ball, runs five yards, stops then passes, then the next one.
All the forwards stationary and marked, all standing on the edge of the oppo box.
No one coming short so the poor midfielders have little option and we pass back again.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

Henderson looks like his legs have gone. He should **** off international football and focus on his club career.
Milner have been a great servant but shouldn't be starting in a midfield alongside Henderson
Taki's been here 2 years. Aside from the odd flash he's been massively underwhelming
That miss at the end pretty much sums his time with us up.
Squad need serious investment. Midfield for all our apparent options is bereft of any real attacking talent.

That's down to how we set up. Why try and play the same ****ing system when the two wide players with pace are missing. Should have done something different.Originally posted by baitman View PostToo many passengers.

Seems we rely on Thiago for all creativity, Hendo, Fab, Thiago seems to work pretty well as long as you have Salah. Thiago can switch the point of attack and that creates so much space. But nobody behind them is making a particularly strong case for regular game time.
Even Elliot, his few 'pretty decent' games at the beginning of the season were no more than that. I'm not sure he is the solution just yet.Modifying post.

Bottom line is, without the disruptions, Klopp (or even Ljinders) would have played a different and, likely, a more vibrant side but he wanted certain players to stretch their legs after isolating last week. We’ve never given too much consideration to this cup and the plan was to use this game to prepare for Brentford.
