I said in the Minamino thread I don't think the forwards really had a role, we had 3 forwards who all wanted to play through the middle. It feels like that forward line was picked because they are our only available forwards. Mane and Salah go wide and help the full backs even if the come inside alot. The front three last night weren't going into wide areas at all.

I think for the remaining games with the guys away at the ACN we need to play Jota as the main man and get a system working that gets the best out of him, personally I think that probably involves at least one of Firmino and Minamino on the bench with someone like Jones in the front 3 and Origi if he's fit, if he isn't not sure who should play there.

I guess we need to go with a similar team to last night? They will start to be getting used to each other. Assists for TAA and Robbo yesterday which is a good sign. I know everyone bangs on about our corners, but that was another corner goal yesterday, we had loads of corners and I thought in general our delivery was decent.

Jota was unlucky not to score at least one.

I reckon we need to rest Matip. And it would be good for Gomez morale.

Think I would go with more or less the same team as you if Origi is not back.

Only changes I might make to your team is maybe Konate for Gomez (depending on who looks better in training) and the same with Roberston and Tsmikas.

Yes and no. We scored almost all of that number in our opening 9 or 10 games and then hardly scored from any since, despite averaging in or around double figures for corners per game.

If they were spread out across the season we wouldn’t be complaining, but we went from a prolonged abnormally high conversion rate to a longer incredibly bad one.

We need to play much better than the first leg to come away with a place in the final. Not an easy game with the form they've been in of late - I'm hoping them not playing at the weekend is actually worse for them and their rhythm.

Need a strong line-up for this and whoever's left standing can play Palace at the weekend... be nice to be in with a chance of a domestic cup for a change...
