His all round play is one dimensional, but he can be effective, at the moment there are bigger problems.

I dont get how he is trying to play.

His plan "A" seems to have a huge gap between defence and midfield. It means when we lose possession we cant press the men properly as there are big gaps everywhere.

Then he seems to bin everything for the last 20 minutes.

It as if he doesnt trust his own initial setup and tactics, and the solution is to get as many attackers on as possible and put Dom as an inverse right back. Im not toally opposed to Dom playing there, but then we lose something in midifeld, which is a bit flimsy at the moment.

It does not fill me with confidence that he throws the gameplan out of the window.

Iask looks a bit lost at the moment. Without supply he is struggling, wheras Ekitike drops deepeer looking for the ball and makes things happen.

Frimpong does looks like a valid option on the right wing. So very few players go on the outside these days, and he has the pace and cross to cause defences' nightmares. Not sure we have the best ariel presence to take advantage though. Not seen Isak socre many with his head (not seen him play that much to be honest).

If Gakpo is the answer, after spunking half a ****in billion quid, then the question is ****ed up

We'd have been better off doing an arsenal...... sign a load of defensive players and win every game 1 nil

Chat gpt reckons that he scored 7 headed goals for Newcastle out of 54. Puts him at about 13%. Kane is 16% and haaland 10% over the same period.

The biggest problem for me is that I just don't see how we are trying to play, I was expecting there to be some teething problems this season bringing so many players in, individual players not quite settling into the side right away making the wrong run, not spotting the right pass, connections not being there etc. But at the moment it looks like we don't know how we want to play or the best players to play.

Our team has so many players who are looking to play passes, but the movement up front is awful or non-existent and we don't have an alternative we don't have someone who will run with the ball and carry it forward like Diaz did.

I said elsewhere I don't get the deal with Isak and Ekitike, Ekitike has been much the better of the two since signing them, but Isak is getting most of the minutes recently, and he looks way off it. For me Ekitike should have the shirt and it's up to Isak to win it off him. Yes we need rotation but Isak has started the last 3 in the PL so is clearly the prefered choice. You could make the argument that he wants to develop understanding amongst what is likely to be the first 11, but if that's the case surely Wirtz should be starting too.

I'm not saying he's the answer, but there are bigger problems to address at the moment.

All the questions seem to be new players. And Salah.

If you spend half a billion quid and make the team worse, then there are no excuses imo.

At least Diaz would work his ****in bollix off.

Yeah he had a good game. He needs to turn some of those into great games. On another day he gets a hat-trick.

We created more than enough to win the game. But not taking chances and conceding is a recipe for well, 4 L’s in a row.

Hasn't had to coach a team that faces the bus every week. If we were approached like a Bournemouth are approached we'd have pace, skill and speed too. None of those really matter when there's 11 men behind the ball. Arsenal's approach might.not be s daft after all

Slot might know what he wants but the players certainly don't get it at the moment. VvD looks totally at a loss as to what's expected of him when we have the ball. It's bemusing that the way we play has been shaken up when it didn't need to be

And Konate. And Mac Allister. And Bradley. Even Virgil at times.

Thought Bradley was pretty good today. That was a solid base to start from. No silly yellows. Got forward well.

Best game he’s played for a while now. Id keep him at RB and play Frimpong RW next game.
