On foot of losing our only capable DM we've swung into action and launched a bid for yet another forward player

Joe Allen will cover and everyone can go back to hating him for being **** out of position. Or Gerrard.

I think that will be priority No 1 this window but it depends who is available too. I'll keep the faith & say yes we will.
Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

Liverpool dealt injury blow as Lucas Leiva faces two months on the sidelines with knee problem

Lucas Leiva has been ruled out for up to two months in a blow to Liverpool's Champions League hopes.

The Brazilian midfielder injured his knee in Saturday's 2-2 draw against Aston Villa at Anfield and a scan has revealed he has damaged his medial ligaments.

The injury is expected to keep Lucas sidelined for between six and eight weeks.

The news will come as a bitter blow for the 27-year-old, who was hoping to use his Liverpool form as a springboard to a call up for the Brazil squad for this summer's World Cup in his homeland.

Lucas' injury is also a setback for Brendan Rodgers and the Reds boss will be without his midfield linchpin for Tuesday's Merseyside derby and next month's clash with Arsenal.

The Reds head into the game with city-rivals Everton at Anfield, a point ahead of Roberto Martinez's men following the Blues' 1-1 draw with West Bromwich Albion on Monday evening.

Anyone we go after now has just had his price raised by a bit with that news.

He's really injury prone isn't he. Sad to say but we can't rely on him any more. I hope he's happy to stay here as a squaddie but we need a direct replacement IMO. Really like Lucas, I just wish he wasn't made of glass

major blow for him this - he's struggled to just get back to his best since his horrific knee injury - this could be the end for him, certainly as first teamer - cause we simply have to sign a top centre mid asap. and it'll be a good while before he is back to full fitness

by which time, if a new centre mid has settled, Allen steps up and henderson continues to perform, well lucas will just slip down the pecking order

We didnt bother buying when he was out long term. Doubt we will now. Also, he gets a load of ****e but to be honest due to not buying cover he has been thrown in post injuries with no match fitness and has played with little rest. No wonder he is injured again

Really? Thought he was excellent for Man City for a time. But went totally off the boil. Would be a decent add him though.
                              *Except Michael, who died.

I think he had a bad knee injury for Milan, i never see any Serie A though,so no idea how well he plays as an individual. Collectively they have been ****e this yr. If he is anything like the De Jong at city he will improve us.

Also just read something about a 20 yr old DM named Valon Berisha from Salzburg, think it was in the independent gossip column.
