I think Lucas at best will now be a squad player, his injuries have been a real setback to him and now other players have moved well ahead of him.Wouldn't be surprised if he left/sold

No way should we sell him. Loyal servant, loves the club, a great bloke and pro to have around - especially for our South American/Spanish speaking geniuses - and a good player. He's clearly not quite the player he was and isn't gonna be a first team regular, but he's a fantastic lad to have around IMO. Great attitude, gets what Brendan wants....unless he kicks up a fuss there'd be absolutely no reason to sell. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

No not saying we will sell just that with his injuries he's seen other players take his place and do really well, but as i said he'll be a good squad player which is what we will now need with champions league football, but his injuries have taken a toll on him, when he came to LFC he was almost a hate figure then he turned that around and was becoming a top player before his injuryOriginally posted by Shaggy View PostNo way should we sell him. He's only just come back from a long term injury I believe that yesterday was his first start since, so he isn't anywhere near back to his regular level.
Also our squad is paper thin IMO we have about 14 players in the squad who are of proven quality and he is one of them, given that next year we will have a lot more fixtures we need to be bringing in quality players not getting rid of them. The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Whilst I guess it can never be proven either way (unless he says it himself), I do think the injuries have had an impact. I understand some posters thought he had a decent game, but I thought he looked cumbersome. He was also a tad erratic and looked off the pace.
Sure, you can say he's rusty, but he's had two major injuries that are going to affect his mobility. I think he's more than an able deputy and should remain at the club, but our midfield will have to be shaped around Henderson.

We should add to the squad not sell.
I don't think he'll ever be a first choice player again but players like him are needed (and like gold dust) and he can still perform to a high level in the midfield.
If he pushes to move on to play every week, well that's different but if he's happy to start 20 games a season/60 game season then great.James Philip Milner Fanclub #1

That's what im concerned about.Originally posted by I, Ravel Morrison View PostWith the number of matches next season and Gerrard a year older, he'll get plenty game time deputizing for Gerrard in the cups and occasional league and CL match.
That clip of Gerrard's reaction to Lucas fouling sums him up perfectly. Constant unnecessary fouls in dangerous places. We had struggled with crosses all game, so what does Lucas do in the last minute? Clatter into one of their players and give them an opportunity to whip a ball into the boxOriginally posted by fah-qDidn't someone once see Philip Schofield ****ting into a crisp packet?

I think that's his timing being off from being rusty/not 100% match fit.Originally posted by meffin View PostThat's what im concerned about.

He's normally so clever at nicking the ball on those situations.

we are trying to play football and control a game, we need to move on from crashing into players.
lucas is in danger of becoming a smiling charlie adam.
...and cue the lucas lovers...removing all the weak links makes us stronger
