Yes, but his main objective was to win the ball and keep posession, Gerrard is our deep lying playmaker and has been responsible for a lot of our goals recently.

Lucas was actually playing ahead of Gerrard before he got injured.

I'd expect him to lose out - Allen is a better option for playing ahead of Gerrard than Lucas.

Saw him leaning against the wall in the tunnel last game at home, and he looked a bit left out.

Fantastic for him to slot in so sweetly too, playing well and making the right impact on the game, the job he was asked to do.

It was a great ball at a time when we were struggling to break them down (even if MOTD 2 said it was Henderson ). Plus he looked good in general play. The fact he could slot into that position so easily just shows what an intelligent player he is and how useful it is to have him back for the run in.
