In an increasingly cosmopolitan world, where nations are so dependent on each other, that is a very stupid thing to say. that statement can easily be misinterpreted by all of our foreign staff and players in our academy.
Would this even be an issue if Erikson or Capello had won the world cup? Or is the performance of the English team just an excuse for such a statement. What happens if Capello applies for british citizenship and is approved? Does it become ok then?
At some point in the future, I feel that there is going to be an orchestrated media campaign to give Carra the LFC managers position - scouse gaurdiola, thinker of the game, will give local lads a chance, passionate, speaks his mind, keep it simple, make players play for the shirt, man manager etc - similar to the BS we were fed with the Dodge. I am not saying he shouldn't be given the job, but I sure hope he is worth it.

They said on Sunday Supplement that even if Capello wins the Euro's, he's still not good enough and should go. Basically said that any success that comes England’s way was/is in spite of Capello.Originally posted by peekay View PostIn an increasingly cosmopolitan world, where nations are so dependent on each other, that is a very stupid thing to say. that statement can easily be misinterpreted by all of our foreign staff and players in our academy.

Oh, I so hope they get their wish sooner, rather than later. If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

That's crazy England haven't come close to winning anything since Euro 96. If England win the Euros next year (unlikey) he deserves a huge amount of credit. I mean they didn't even qualify for the last on FFS.Last edited by Exiled_red; 13-10-11, 04:10 PM.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

If there's one thing in this country that's worse than our national football team, it's our media.

the trouble with england is the players, they all read the ****rag, mirror , mail, etc & that is as qualified/intelectual as they get. Until we train the brain, we'll win **** all.
that said you can bet an EPIC but GLORIOUS semi final failure in 2014 with Harry 'i'm not a farking wheeler/dealer' Redknapp in charge & the papers will adore it/him/the players (remember gazza's tits, oh how we all loved it ................NOT). Re: the Bodge, even the FA aren't that stupid are they???

They should all be taken outside and shot.
And not just the tabloid hacks - most broadsheet columnists are just as bad..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.

Kelly - Carra will be a top boss
England Under-21 international learning from club legend
By Soriebah Kajue. Last Updated: October 13, 2011 5:37pm
Liverpool youngster Martin Kelly believes club stalwart Jamie Carragher will be an ideal manager in the future.
Kelly, 21, is at the opposite end of the spectrum of his career to the former England stopper, but believes he has all the tools to be successful in the dugout.
Carragher, 33, is renowned throughout the club for his forensic knowledge of the game and has used his experience to help the younger players introduced by Dalglish to settle into the side.
Attributes
The Bootle-born battler stated earlier this month that he could possibly retire within the next 18 months and is presently doing his UEFA B badge.
And Kelly has backed him to ace that course and excel at management when he does indeed opt to follow that calling.
"He has definitely got all the attributes to become a manager," said Kelly.
"He would definitely get the best out of players. He won't settle for second best and I look forward to seeing a massive player for the club go into management."

Honestly, what else was Kelly going to say? For a young English defender coming through the ranks at Liverpool, he is naturally going to hold someone like Carra in high regard and say nice things about him isn't he?"Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball."
