Coutinho hasn't just learnt how to shoot. His technique hasn't changed.. He's just more assertive/confident.

Sterling would have to change core things to be able to improve his shooting. Core things like balance, weight transfer etc.

Core things ingrained in his technique.

He's been playing daily for **** know how many years and I would suggest those things can't be changed.

For me he's very close to his development ceiling already.

And btw I would keep him if we could. He is still a good player (played in the right role) with right players around him.

But he is not and never will be world class. Far too one dimensional for that.

Besides that, Coutinho has scored some stunning goals but he isn't exactly prolific is he?

I cannot see either of them being a 15+ goals a season midfielder AKA Gerrard anytime soon.

Coutinho is about 10 levels above Sterling.

Yet Sterling has more goals, more assists, more key passes and has created more chances than Coutinho this season.

I'm a huge fan of Coutinho, but let's not rewrite history because Sterling is acting the tit.

I don't think he's ****e mate he has so much potential, I just think he doesn't doesn't want to be here anymore.

He hasn't played a good game since the contract talks started, if he doesn't want to be here sure no point in making him stay. Get good deal for him and let him move to a club where he wants to play. Sick of these sagas, sell him and let us look for players who actually want to be here.

The stats skew it a little since Sterling plays very advanced, sometimes in a strikers position where as Coutinho is sometimes fairly back and mainly as support. I believe there have been a few examples that show when Sterling goes off not much changes. But when Coutinho goes off its like the teams creativity dies. And lets not forget how much more handsome Coutinho is.

I agree, Sterling is often playing in a more advanced role, but then you would think Coutinho would relish the space behind and would be leading on assists, chances created and key passes. We all know he likes a good through-ball.

Both have been good for us this season. Sterling had a strong start and tailed off in the new year; Coutinho took a while to find his feet and has built momentum. Both players are exceptionally good and I would say there is nothing much between them when they are both playing at their best.

much depends on who coutinho has making the intelligent runs into space in front of him.
if all he has to work with is balotelli then coutinho's stats will look like ****e.
removing all the weak links makes us stronger

too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
