I've seen you say that sort of thing a few times now, but it doesn't make sense. If Torres is available for £20m then it won't cost us £5m, it will cost us £20m. The money they agreed for his transfer we're entitled to regardless of whether we re-sign him or not.

You're right of course - I was looking at it very simplistically, based upon £50m given by Roman for Torres in the first place.

And to completely different cultures and leagues! £20m and 150k a week on a soon to be 28 year old who's past his best would be utterly insane, I'd rather spend that on the next big thing than try and get back the old one. History and sympathy shouldnt be a reason for signing a player.

Yeah 1 against Blackpool for Kenny's first league game back as manager. The 2 he scored away to Wolves. Think his last game for us was the 1-0 at home to Fulham, when he had a good goal disallowed. All January.
