Obviously, we'll have to agree to disagree on this one because I think he is.Originally posted by Lee View Post
Rush, Barnes and Kenny are LFC legends. Torres is nowhere near.

We should bring him back home...at any cost

On the small chance that he'd rediscover half of what he was, a punt (and that's all it'd be) at £10m would be something to consider. £20m is barking mad though.Originally posted by PTP View Posta few things worry me....
1) he's been **** for a year.....Proper ****
2) it's also the longest spell he's had injury free since moving to england?!
3) his body language and attitude just makes him look like he's so unhappy with football - i wouldn't be suprised if he wanted to quit
4) his now what 28?, has previous with injuries, and even though he's stayed fit for a year.....he's been ****ing terrible and there would be a worry that maybe the injuries have finished him or theres a chance they might flare up
5) he completley burnt his bridges here...he sulked, moaned, and just went from being a yougn boy loving his football and loving liverpool to coming across as an arrogant spoilt football thinking of himself...
£20m
- no way - too much of a gamble
I'd consider £10m though, providing he did a grovelling apology and come back plea.

Watching that, it reminds you how truly astonishing he was. Just unplayable. But that was a long time ago. If we could get half of that back from him, it'd be a no brainer but i dont see it. Look at him in the earlier days, how happy he looked, his body language etc. He's now a shadow of that player.Originally posted by JohnDoe View Post
It's weird, but it seems like the season we went to Standard Chartered, that seems to be the point from which he looks a different player, funnily enough when he went to brown hair too
Even at that point when he was scoring, he didnt look like the same happy guy who was doing the business for us a year or two prior. It's a real shame, looking at how incredible he was and where that could've taken him - and now how crap he's become. But he has. And for that reason, i dont think signing him back would be a beneficial move.

He was incredible, absolutely incredible, and I find the revisionism since he left staggering. All people need to do is watch that video of all his LFC goals.
A lot of people have said it but I've never seen such a rapid decline (I'd still take him back but there's no doubt he's not *that* player anymore) or fall from grace. I still find it.....just amazing. Absolutely amazing. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

the worry is
let's just say we paid £20m - he came back, all happy and smiley and grovelling to the fans and all was good
And then 6 months down the line, he's played 15 games, scored 2, looked ****e, started sulking and picked up an injury
there would be ****ing uproar
and right now thats more likely than him coming back, and start banging them in scoring say 8 in 15 and looking sharp/fiti own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

I've made my feelings known and that is that he is quality, you don't just lose that. He was simply savage for us and we miss him big style.
People have mentioned that he's finished, I'm not having that he's only 27!!
I don't believe his body is ruined either he's not picked up an injury in ages. I just believe his confidence is shot and he is the type of player that thrives off confidence.
He looks a spook at the moment but if he was to recapture the form he once had he would be phenomonal again I've not doubt about it.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Always, keep your face to the sun, and shadows will fall behind you.

As i said in an earlier post, expect a Torres is going nowhere satement from the Chavs soon, and it has now come,
They say he's not leaving, not in the short term or the longer term, he's staying.
Chelsea are determined to keep faith with Torres and a club spokesman said today: "The story is total nonsense. Fernando is in the long-term plans at Chelsea."
Manager Andre Villas-Boas is expected to give Torres his full backing when he holds a press conference tomorrow to preview the club's next match, at Wigan.Last edited by Vermilion; 14-12-11, 02:31 PM.
