He isn't that important to team right now. His attitude stinks in some games.Originally posted by Nigey View PostGerrard is very important to the team. Can't drop him.
If it had been any other player then a lot of us would have said, sell him, bench him etc.
Stinker after stinker in games he clearly don't think is important enough. He is a big game player now and that is very disappointing considering that it is probably a mental problem. In the big games he works his socks off.Stop the cyberhate

from now on I will skip talking about our finances. That is a promise and will save myself from looking like a

Never seen him play, so I've got no idea man. Thought we were gonna sign that Derby midfielder. What's his name, Will Hugues? They're all attacking minded players it seems, not sure it's what we need. We need a defensive midfielder.Originally posted by SB View PostYeah I saw we are supposedly interested in Pastore? Any chance you think?
You're overstating it Arn. He might have not been great, but he's been far from a liability. He's no longer the player he was 5 years ago, so he's had to adapt his game.Originally posted by Arn View PostHe isn't that important to team right now. His attitude stinks in some games.

I'd like to see Henderson, Gerrard and Lucas rotated as the middle two. Give Gerrard a rest now and again, likewise Lucas. Thing is I just can't imagine Brendan leaving Gerrard out, ever. I'm not sure he's ever 'rotated' him out of the team. As much as Rodgers has won me over and is continually improving, I'm not sure he's got the balls to leave Gerrard out from time to time.
Henderson have the mental strenght our Captain had a few years ago. The will to win and energy our Captain had a few years ago.
As you said, Gerrard will probably never be dropped by Rodgers in a league game if he is fit to play.
Right now he is playing because he is our Captain, local lad etc and that the manager don't have the balls to drop him IMO.
Play Lucas and Henderson in the middle and use Gerrard as back up off the bench if we need him.
If every player was fit then our starting XI shouldn't include Gerrard but it should include Henderson and Lucas.Stop the cyberhate

will Hughes is one for the future but as far as I know Pastore is more a DM. Sure to be wrong now I've said it though.

No I don't IMO and many others agree with me.Originally posted by Nigey View PostYou're overstating it Arn. He might have not been great, but he's been far from a liability. He's no longer the player he was 5 years ago, so he's had to adapt his game.
The problem is that it has taken him a few years now trying to adapt and nothing is pointing to that he will adapt.
Yesterday wasn't the first game this season that his attitude stank. Compare that to the attitude Henderson show week in week out.
Henderson lead by example. Gerrard don't.Stop the cyberhate

****ing hell! I agree Gerrard has not been the same player for some time. HE never was going to be. However, some of his passing has been fantastic in games. He is certainly not a liability!!! FFS!
I do worry about his lack of work rate in trying to retrieve the ball when we don't have possession. I would certainly have a think and wonder how much of his play is relating directly to managers orders. Rodgers has spoken out about managing him this late in his career.
Just having him on the pitch is important imo. The opposition team would get a boost just knowing he is not playing if you ask me.
Yes he could definitely improve his current level of performance but no way should he be dropped imo.

Personally I don't mean "DROP HIM!" - just that it would be good to leave him out from time to time. But he never is, in fact he's never even subbed off. Think we should be managing him a little better in that regard but Rodgers has him playing every single minute.Originally posted by poorscousertommy View Post****ing hell! Maybe he's not in form now, bound to happend more when he gets older. Haven't it been said that BR sets up the fitness plan so the players doesn't tired to much toward the end of the season. It could that SG is playing his way to form, or that he's tired after per-season, internationals etc.
he's not the player he was, but still an important part of the team.Blank

And he's 11 years younger. Even if many agree with you, doesn't mean you and the others are right.Originally posted by Arn View PostNo I don't IMO and many others agree with me.

I definitely agree with leaving him out time to time. And even more so with the fact he should be subbed when he is obviously having no effect.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostPersonally I don't mean "DROP HIM!" - just that it would be good to leave him out from time to time. I think the main problem is we have nobody who can come on and do a better job until everyone is fit at the minute?

Was just reading them myself, very impressive.Originally posted by rudedog View PostHenderson won 5 out of the 7 tackles he attempted yesterday. Also made 2 interceptions, 4 clearances and had a 92% passing accuracy.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?
