I for one have never slagged him off & believed he would come good but he's even surpassing my expectations at present.

He came with a huge price tag, was placed out of position and not regularly and failed to impress as a result. Most criticism was justified. I'm probably over excited about him and I doubt he'll reach the levels that I want him to but he, more than any other player at LFC, has improved constantly. If he carries on improving, adding goals to his game, then he's going to be great. I don't think he's ever going to be a Gerrard type player, as in single handedly changing a game, the comparison I'd make is more of a Bryan Robson type keeping control of the game and linking defence to attack

We all know that he doesn't set his price tag & not everyone handles the weight of expectation that such a big price brings. The fact that the Club believed him to be worth that much means that he deserves time. Unfortunately we were in a very frustrating time in our history & he copped some **** that wasn't entirely warranted but its understandable due to the frustration. I'm so pleased to see him starting to show what the Club believed he was capable of. Onwards & upwards.

I just read pages 1 and 2 of this thread. Interesting insight from a few that's coming to fruition.

Link play was excellent,made good runs but offered nothing for defensive cover for full backs... very lightweight too but technically very good. Good squad player but wages too high for a squad player.

In saying that, i reckon if his wages weren't so high we would have kept him. Would have been handy to have in the squad

still lots of doubters. I think you need to be there in the flesh to fully appreciate him. Loads of work off the ball, Coutinho was impressed with his workrate as well

henderson looked very poor against sunderland.
very little positive contribution. played a few high balls into the box but our players were never going to win the headers against the sunderland defence. allowed the ball to run over his foot and go out a couple of times, piss poor concentration.

i do get that he has had a few good games, but i wonder if they were just false dawns
