I think that depend purely on the system. alonso and mascherano didnt score ten goals between in any season and we didnt do too bad when they were both in central midfield.

hendersons got a very good engine and once he settles down with a proper defensive mid like lucas he will feel that he has more freedom to make those runs.

infact if kenny has played henderson centrally from the beginning of the season you would see a more progressive and dynamic henderson now.

I would bet my life that he will develop into a top top player for us. the lad can do everything.

I wouldn't make such an extravagant wager but he certainly has a lot of potential, and I'm a lot more confident about him now than earlier in the season.

I'm not, I always rated Lucas, I don't think Henderson is a centre mid nor do I think he has the mentality to be a top class player.

would you honestly play a lad who shirks a tackle, and generally passes sideways or backwards in the middle. he has to improve these basics and only then could we allow him some time in the middle of the pitch.

He is not the player we should be building the team around, that should Suarez. Henderson is far too inconsistent to do that and he doesn't have either the attacking drive nor the defensive mindset to be a defensive mid. Right now he is best at being used as an impact sub.

He was never signed to be the answer to all out mid field problems but as a young footballer with genuine talent, if it was not for Lucas and Gerrards injuries we would not have seen as much of him this season. hes shown what hes capable of, **** knows why that stoke clip is in there though
