As long as this dominant centre-mid id excellent defensively, very creative, has a really good passing range and can control the tempo of the game, then I'm with youOriginally posted by Saveloy View PostJust a dominant centre mid for me. Would make all the difference.
Brandt - Keita - Van Dijk - Sessegnon

It wasn't tied up ages ago because FSG didn't have to do it any earlier, meaning they've saved the best part of 50-60k a week over 12 months, that's without signing on fees and bonuses.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostGood news, very happy with this, still can't but help feeling it could have been tied up ages ago.
All about being financial prudent. The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Not worth 100 grand a week at the moment but his production has increased & his passing has improved a lot. He has looked leggy this season.
Once he has an out and out DM beside him and he can play his natural box to box game.. he could turn out to be a quality player. Great to get him signed up up news is true.... now to get rid of Raheem

Financially prudent but it's also a bit **** for an employer to hold out an agreement to save some cash.Originally posted by The Birdman View PostIt wasn't tied up ages ago because FSG didn't have to do it any earlier, meaning they've saved the best part of 50-60k a week over 12 months, that's without signing on fees and bonuses.

Eh? We've not held out on anything, Henderson signed a contract when he first joined, so we're within our rights to keep him on that contract and to offer him a new one when we feel the timing was right.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostFinancially prudent but it's also a bit **** for an employer to hold out an agreement to save some cash.

If we are in discussions for a contract but slow down the negotiations in order to save some cash, then I'd say we were within our rights but I don't think we are treating said employee well. But no matter, they have reached a solution so all is good.Originally posted by Scratch View PostEh? If I recall correctly, it was Henderson who said that the talks were being put aside for a later date to allow him to concentrate on football, so it's not like we intentionally held out.Originally posted by The_weatherman View PostIf we are in discussions for a contract but slow down the negotiations in order to save some cash, then I'd say we were within our rights but I don't think we are treating said employee well. All we have done is let his current contract (one that he agreed when he first joined?) run down, before offering him new terms. Not something I would use to beat FSG with tho.

He had knocked back our previous offerBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."

Oh, I' not beating FSG, at least in general, I'm content with them, bordering on pleasedOriginally posted by Scratch View PostIf I recall correctly, it was Henderson who said that the talks were being put aside for a later date to allow him to concentrate on football, so it's not like we intentionally held out.

But there are reasons clubs don't let their players contracts run so much down, one is they could potentially buy themselves out and their worth also runs down. The first signs of a new contract for Hendo came last summer when and all the noises in the media have been that it stalled since Liverpool offered 80 but he wanted more, so if we were dragging it out to save cash I just don't think it's the right thing to do by the player/employee.
But again all is good, pleased they managed to close it.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

The PR machine has definitely kicked in over the past few days since the cup loss. I think they are pushing agreeing the Henderson deal forward and leaking stories of signings to stop the rumblings.Originally posted by Lecter View PostThey were put aside because they were at stalemate
