Henderson is not the problem, the fact that he is captain may be a symptom of it. But if you take the armband off him who do you give it to? Everyone is much the same.

You look back to Gerrard's time as captain, there were players such as Carragher, Hyypia, Mascherano, Kuyt, Hamann, Suarez and more, all leaders on the pitch and anyone of them could have done a good job as captain. Look around the current squad who do you have?

It is a case of priorities though, with limited funds there's only so much that can be done. Klopp said during the summer for instance that he had bigger priorities than forwards but there's work that needs done there also.

To replace Coutinho
To replace Can
To sign a striker

Half a first team right there before we look to upgrading on Henderson and arguably Wijnaldum is the one needing to be upgraded.

I think that sums up the current situation very well.

It’s got to be new CB and keeper. I know we could do with strengthening a few other positions but those two are now critical

Actually, I think we are also struggling to score now, but we have to fix the defence first before we think about improving the attack.
