I appreciate he has certain qualities, but he's an extremely frustrating player. It's been the same story all season with him - he needs to stamp his authority on the game. At the moment, he's prone to hiding in matches, and that's a pretty dreadful quality in a central midfield player.
He doesn't have the attributes to be a top wide player. He can't dribble, he's not fast, he offers very little goal threat and his crossing, while being decent, isn't great.K ris90210

I meant on the forum of est mate, can't speak for the population of SunderlandOriginally posted by Rowan View PostNot in Sunderland it isn't. Just about to a man they are adamant he was more effective out on the right.
Seems regardless of RM or CM he has been pretty ****e. My point being the people on here that are defending Hendo are saying he is better in CM, but then you yourself said that in Sunderland in which he played for few seasons, people say his strongest position is on the right. Maybe some on here are using this as an excuse for his poor showings?Last edited by danperkins; 02-04-12, 12:43 PM.

I work there. Count yourself lucky.
The view, near enough universally held across the mackems that I know (which unfortunately is a lot) is that in the middle he had potential but he was a soft ****e who was fabtastic at looking busy without actually delivering and when they moved him out of the middle both he (and the team looked far better). They were all staggered when we went in for him for £10m+.
Myself, I reckon he'll come good. I say this because I know his old Headmaster pretty well and he told me it'll definitely happen. I'd not be inclined to chuck him out with the dirty washing up water or a baby but he needs to aquire a bit of steel and belief about his game. I just remember his brief cameo against the Mancs where he looked relaxed and dangerous. To me he looks absolutely petrified of the ball (and opposing players) at the minute.A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

I hate to bring up this chestnut but this is exactly where Rafa excelled. I'd have no doubt that Henderson would improve immeasurably next season under his tutelage but I'm not so sure under this regime.Originally posted by Rowan View PostI'd not be inclined to chuck him out with the dirty washing up water or a baby but he needs to aquire a bit of steel and belief about his game. If he'd have gone to Man U he'd be a lot better even by now.Was muß, das muß.

The thing is that when he was hear many people couldn't see the advances he was making in the likes of Lucas's game. It is quite possible that improvements that are being made by Henderson are not being picked up by us.Originally posted by foresterbloke View PostI hate to bring up this chestnut but this is exactly where Rafa excelled. is this LFC, or the jordan henderson footy academyOriginally posted by The Birdman View PostHenderson is a very good footballer and will grow into one for us, needs to play centrally and have a run of games to get his confidence up.
Pointless playing him wide
if henderson showed his promise at sunderland on the right, why should we play him in cm?
although he has been tried at rw and has looked gash, at least he can run a bit. maybe he can learn to do this with the ball
if we play him at cm then we have all seen his inability [reluctance] to tackle anyone... he will be a glaringly obvious weak link, but in one of the most important positions on the pitch.
i know kenny has struggled to get some positive game time from this "prospect" but i remain unconvinced that anyone could polish this turd to a shine.removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.
