He was awful and he is never a CM, he played 11 long pass and while 10 where acurate, only 2 went forward, he is nothing like Alonso. He is wasted everywhere but on the bench,

i think people all expect him to be the next gerrard and he is a very different player. hes not an attacking midfielder so people need appreciate there are more things to winning a game of football than just banging goals in.

What are the more things than banging goals in? Seems that's been LFC's problem they often win on all measures other than banging goals in.

Meanwhile there's people on here who used to bleat endlessly on about getting rid of Rafa, now lauding him! It's hilarious to read some of their posts, because unlike Matt some of them don't show any respect for people who disagree with them.

Do i really have to answer that?? you know like players have to pass/move/defend? have to be strong/fit/mental capable?

We never slated Lucas or Alonso for not banging goals in did we so people need get out of this mind set that Henderson should be judged on his shooting. He played very well against villa in the role of the sitting midfielder you links defence and attack. There is a LOT more to the game than just the person who finishes.

But that aside you are completely right about why we are only 8th in the league. With a top class striker/finisher we would have been challenging for the title imho. It pains me when i think we gave newcastle £35m to buy Cisse and Ba and still have lots of change

"Have and never will be" is a strong opinion to have. One which may very well bite you in the ass I think it will end up being his best position as he finds hit feet. (holding midfielder is different from a defensive midfielder)
