He is out of the firing line - he's not a regular starter at the moment. We can't exactly drop him completely and never play him

It's still early with Henderson, he's still young, and in a way it's unfair to have a pop at him cos he plays once every few weeks and has also been shoved around all over the park, even playing at right back recently.

There's still time for him to come good - the problem is he's probably sixth choice and it's difficult to envisage him getting a run of games in his proper position.

Mentally he seems shot and has shown no sign of digging himself out of it.

If he moves then he may well re discover his form and kick on again but I am not sure he will be able to do that with us now.
        Agree with both.

I know he's been in and out of the team and shunted about in different positions, but there's no doubt that he has the ability. He just seems to be so mentally fragile.

I don't know how much he earns but if he's going to remain as sixth choice midfielder and playing only one game per month, then he really needs to go. Can't be spending £60k per week on a player who doesn't play.

Even if we ship him out I'll still feel it harsh to lump him in with the "flops" of Carroll, Downing and Adam. Those three were never, ever good enough and were destined to be **** buys from the start. Henderson has something, and IMO will go on to do well elsewhere (unlike the other three). But ultimately it'd be another £13m+ down the pan, leaving only Suarez and Coates as Kenny's only good signings.

I hate it when a player has many of the attributes and skills, but lacks the confidence, such a waste.

I don't know if a manager should/could be more pro-active in this area, instill the confidence that's needed, but history is littered with talented players that didn't go on to fulfill their potential, basically because they just didn't believe they could, no matter what they said in public.

              Of course you can

Henderson needs the same level of support that Shelvey seems to be getting from the manager.

Big him up, give him belief and watch him blossom. He's struggling because he's barely played, or he's played in an unfamiliar position, or the fact his confidence is shot thanks to us trying to use him in the Dempsey deal (FFS).

Most of Henderson's poor form can be placed at Rodger's door IMO.

The lad clearly has a lot of skill, he's a hard worker, and has a good engine, plus he's young so really he's the kind of player we should be nuturing.

Instead, the writing it clearly on the wall for him and I'm not entirely sure why.

Harsh to lay the blame at Rodgers door IMO. Henderson has had chances, he hasn't taken them. He only has himself to blame IMO.

Rodgers has shown that he's willing to keep faith with players who come in and perform for him, no matter who it is. That's exactly as it should be. I can't remember the last time I really thought Henderson had a great game.

Considering he's technically decent, he's one of the worst for passing it for the sake of passing. We need players who are comfortable on the ball, who can take it and turn. His decision making is poor in my opinion - I really thought he'd be a good fit in Rodgers system. Great stamina, good technique and passing - possibly the 3 most important attributes for a player in his position. But no, I don't think he's going to make it sadly.

What was Rodger's doing last season then with regards to Henderson's poor form given the fact he was managing Swansea . Was he sending him hate mail or something? Is Rodgers also to blame for Downing?

Definitely his mentality letting him down.

As Lecter would say, 'he's ****ing chicken'.

He hasn't shown any kind of courage or conviction in the time he's been here and he doesn't look like he's going to either. He really needed to step up this season and he hasn't done, don't think he has what it takes to succeed here or any other 'big' club.

If he hasn't gotten over that 2 months later then you'd have to question his strength of character. Are players really that fragile? Transfers are all part of being a footballer.
