I don't think he treats the ball as a 'hot spud', I see it more as a positive and believe Henderson's short length passing is one of his greatest attributes; combined with his ability to see an early ball, I think he's very useful in the centre of the park. Yes, he needs to be more assured and yes, he needs to have a little bit more self-belief, but he's built on his first year with us and will continue to do so.Originally posted by tanner View PostTechnically piss poor, fluffs it up when he has time to think about it, and when we play a quality side and need to try and play keep ball he treats the ball like a hot spud. In many ways he's like Heskey, only in midfield. Only at his best in a fast flowing game where plays with instinct.
I don't rate him at all.
How strange you appear on the forum after a bad result.

Everytime I've seen him play a quality side he just cannot keep it, its not a strength at all, its panic and a lack of technical ability IMO. The short pass in the type of situation I'm talking about frequently puts the receiving player in danger because its a rushed ball. He's OK when playing at pace, but 75% of his game is very average.
Its nothing more than a coincidence we happened to lose the last game (that was almost a week ago...) and I've posted this, I've just popped on here for a read and seen this thread, and the Henderson love is just simply something I find very odd.
Read more into it if that if conspiracy theories are your thing, its just my opinion.Last edited by tanner; 07-11-13, 04:03 PM.SakhoPotatoes

Henderson will never be a regular first teamer in any top side IMO, nor international side. Ok player.. but does look way out of his depth against better opposition & tends to go missing when the going gets tough.
In saying that, he has improved on last season and is played out of position a lot. Technically ok and good engine & definitely better in a forward role as he is piss poor defensively. And although quite physical in stature... mentality he's a bit of a kitten. But i just can't ever see him being good enough to be a starter in his best position.. as there are better players ahead of him. Not a player i would rely on to take control or stamp his authority on a game.
Decent squad player for LFC but that's about it IMO.Last edited by danperkins; 07-11-13, 04:05 PM.

In my defence.. i did start the thread so technically i have to post in it. Probably the only thread i'm top in
removing all the weak links makes us stronger
too many gutless players, no beef or desire. pussies everywhere... sack them all.

He has been our most consistant midfielder this season and atm imo it would be unjust to drop him.Originally posted by tanner View PostTechnically piss poor, fluffs it up when he has time to think about it, and when we play a quality side and need to try and play keep ball he treats the ball like a hot spud. He came a long way and improved quite a bit since he initially joined us and is much better player now.
Is he good enough to be a regular starter is certainly open for discussion but I don't think he deserves so much criticism that he still gets from some fans.Last edited by Mostar; 07-11-13, 09:28 PM.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

Was one of our best yesterday. On the Ning Nang Nong
Where the Cows go Bong!
And the Monkeys all say Boo!
There's a Nong Nang Ning
Where the trees go Ping!
And the tea pots Jibber Jabber Joo.
On the Nong Ning Nang
All the mice go Clang!
And you just can't catch 'em when they do!
So it's Ning Nang Nong!
Cows go Bong!
Nong Nang Ning!
Trees go Ping!
Nong Ning Nang!
The mice go clang!
What a noisy place to belong,
Is the Ning Nang Ning Nang Nong!!
