Allen is more match sharp than Lucas & is definitely more mobile. IMO Allen will start.

Its not only his energy/work rate and passing we will miss but also his creativity - from the squad, only Suarez has created more goal scoring opportunities this year.

If Studge is out then both will play.

A couple of lads who play footy with us, one a Bluenose and the other a Manc, insist he's one of the worst in the league along with Lucas and Allen. I couldn't even be arsed to argue with the jokers.

Send them this link which shows he is the 2nd best player in the league in terms of overall pass success, chances created and assists :

It's a bit of a myth really. A season or so back I remember reading an analysis of his play and in fact he averaged fewer than two fouls per game, while at the same time making far more tackles than any other player.

That was true back in '08 maybe that Lucas gives away fouls in dangerous areas.

Well I hope so. I like him so it'll be great to see him on the pitch after such a long period of injury. This just isnt the time for rustiness sadly.

Really really missed this lad today, his energy couldn't be matched by Lucas, and there was a couple of times where players looked for the run that he usually would make only for no-one to be there.

Who'd of thought we'd be saying that a year or so ago.

I thought Lucas was excellent until he visibly and understandably tired. He must have won 10 balls for us in the first 20 minutes.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He gave away needless freekicks but hey ho I have agenda as I worried pre game.

Seriously he did OK in a position that obviously isn't suited to him. But he isn't getting in the team as first choice any time soon.

We have little choice for the next 2 games anyway

I honestly hope the lad gets back to where he once was.
