He did very well today, I was nervous of his contribution but he did great. If he can get back to his best its great for us but he's only managed that form consistently in one season since he's joined so we are right to be looking to replace him.

Never thought he looked great alongside Carra, but he plays much better alongside Agger. Everyone can have a poor season, and I am not sure why he has been written off either.

Does not look good when we go and blow £18m on a new centreback (which for me is waaay too much), especially after Toure played so well. Give Rodgers something to think about.

Superb today, totally baffling how he's been written off in most quarters as some sort of liability.

No idea why I keep reading people saying he's rubbish. Aside from the odd mistake, he's generally been very good for us for many seasons and if he does go, it will be a shame. Toure's looked good for a few matches and the new singings sound promising but there's no guarantee that's how it will work out. Just hope we don't end up regretting the loss of a consistent and proven defender if he moves.

Great showing from him today, but hasn't changed my opinion of him as a player: he's a good central defender, always has been, but I'm not convinced he's a good fit for us anymore, nor us for him. That's unfortunate since I like him, but no great shame - it happens.

Done well by the club for many years, hope he enjoys his time in Naples or St. Petersburg or wherever it is. Gave us a hell of a sendoff.
