Skrtel was a monster against WBA this weekend, and I've picked him in my MOM thread for the very same reason. He just cleared everything in the air, and kept a big guy like Anichebe from taking a single ball down.

Great performance, and he has really showed himself this season after being handed the chance again. Seems like the competition have done him a world of good. Unfortunatly for him it seems like it will be hard for Agger to come back in again after his injury.

But to be honest, he still has his dodgy moments. Could have given two penalties away and misjudged the Anelka chance. In all honesty, Agger also has his lapses in concentration too.

Yep, Sakho and Kolo have been the real difference for me and if Agger returns it will be at Skrtels expense. IMO

Not having a go here, but i think Sakho has his fair share of lapses as well. He has made a good start to life in liverpool but there have been several times when he has been a bit rash or held onto the ball too long.

All in all, we have 4 strong centre backs imo, as good as any in the competition.

I'd agree with that, if Agger comes back in it would be for Skrtel. Hasn't done anything wrong but I think the other two are certain starters

Every single defender playing has his moments now and then, makes the odd bad call in a game.

It's a fine line between Agger; and Skrtle in this form.

Thought i'd give this a bump!

He has been brilliant this season, is prone to the odd headlessness & although wasn't great last season was treated a wee bit harshly IMO. This time last year the thought of Skrtel being sold wouldn't have bothered me too much... but he really has stepped up this season and deserves his spot in the first 11.

Interesting to see if he is sold in Jan or summer... whatever happens good for us as his price will surely raise with regular first team action & good performances.
