He's been a first team player for a more than few years and to be dropped first coz of Carra and now coz of Toure and Sakho cannot sit well with him.

Also Slovakia is still in the mix for the WC qualification and he needs to play regularly at the club's level to be a starter for his national team.

Plenty of reasons for him to raise his game and hopefully he will.

I believe they'll be back for Skrtel. Albiol is the only defender signed in the summer and it seems that the existing ones, Britos and Cannavaro aren't highly rated. Well at least amongst the fans.

Cannavaro is captain IIRC - probably not all that likely to be replaced especially soon IMO.

All feels a bit Sander Westerveld when Kirkland and Dudek arrived with Skrtel. I guess he's a casualty of building a squad in Brendan's image. Great game last week though. Hope he does well elsewhere, it wasn't that long ago he was Liverpool's poty.

My stream wasn't great, but I thought he looked a bit clumsy today and was lucky to get away with a few of the things he did. That's not to say I thought he played poorly, was just surprised to see a couple of people say he was one of our best players, so looking forward to watching a full replay.
