Alan Parry certainly agrees with you, he wouldnt shut up about how amazing he was. But he was abysmal on the 3rd goal and the 2nd goal was just typical of the constant mishaps that happen when he's in the team.

Skrtel was fantastic today.. he literally was covering the whole entire back line all game. Guy was everywhere and clear in MOM thread how well people thought he played. Not his fault Johnson & Toure were atrocious & Flanno was out of position and lost. Toure & Skrtel starting together was never gonna end well though.

Seems like Brendan still hasn't learnt his lesson when it comes to our Martin, the guy is an utter liability, always has been and as long as he is in the team we will continue to concede goals.
I find it strange that BR permanently dropped Skrtel last season in favour of a 35 year old Carragher but now he's back in the team over Agger and Sakho, stupid decision which cost us big time.
Hopefully today the penny drops once and for all for Brendan.

Not agreeing or disagreeing with anybody here, but would be interesting in general if we could compare match ratings between those who watch on Sky, those at the match and those watching streams.

His performance is getting very mixed reviews on Twitter that's for sure. I didn't think he did a lot wrong today, nor Flanagan, Johnson and Kolo were very poor.

We spent 17m on a new defender and then play the bloke we wanted to sell in his place.

We don't keep a lot of clean sheets regardless of who's playing so I'm not sure that can be pinned on Martin, it's more a symptom of the fact we can't keep a settled back 4 week in week out. I think going forward, Skrtel won't be in our settled back 4 so we should just get it out of the way and start playing Agger and Sakho and let them get on with it.

Because two goals deflected off him it looks bad for Skrtel. But most who watched the game could see he covered for our whole defence. Had a very good game.. but needs a CB beside him that is calm and composed on the ball.

Its nothing to do with two deflections. And more to do with first goal : Just backs off, should have closed down Livermore, Toure and Johnson had their lone attacker more than covered. Second goal, ends up colliding with Toure, why was he even going for that?! Why was he even that far over there? It's Toure's side, Toure was covering Sagbo yet he comes over, they collide and Hull end up scoring. 3rd goal, he goes out to the guy out wide, lets him come in, come in some more, does nothing while the guy is just having a nice think of what to do in the area, lays it off after being given all the time in the world then bad luck with the own goal.

Toure was just as bad on some of these, its not just Skrtel but how on earth anyone has that down as a fantastic centre half performance I'll never know.

Literally just looking at the goals, Carragher critiquing them. Skrtel should have been man marking for the third but Toure was calamitous for 2nd and 3rd. The first one was Moses fault and unlucky deflection. And considering what went on in the 90 mins & how much covering and interceptions Skrtel had to... i think that is why most people seem to agree that Skrtel had a good game overall.

I'm not even a fan of Skrtel in general but he done well today overall IMO.
