          Agger: Skrtel's been our best

Martin Skrtel has been Liverpool's player of the season, according to his centre-back partner Daniel Agger.

Skrtel played every minute of every league game for the Reds last season - and has built on that this term with a series of commanding performances at the back.

One of the highlights of his season so far was a goal in the Carling Cup final against Cardiff City, one of four strikes for the Slovakian in 2011-12.

Fellow defenders Jose Enrique and Jamie Carragher have already voiced their appreciation in recent months, and Agger has joined their number.

Asked who'd get his vote for LFC player of the season, the Dane told the Official Matchday Programme: "Martin, without a doubt. I don't think there is any other choice.

          "He has been so consistent.

"I'm not sure how many years he has been here but he's improved every season. This year he has become better and better.

"I think in most games he has been our man of the match.".

After recent performances it does seem to be very much like that indeed.

Well said Daniel. One thing though, whilst I think Skrtel needs Agger along side him to perform, I'm not sure Agger needs Skrtel.

I think Carra unsettles the defence. He should only be played in extreme circumstances, preferbly at another club somewhere.

I dont see how someone who has done so much playing for this club can be so disliked.
                    *Except Michael, who died.

I don't dislike him, he's red through and through, and a legend. Has become a liability though and I don't want to see that, not here anyway

There are plenty of players I would ship out before him though.

Yeah I agree with Cream on that.

I think it'd be better if Carra left in the summer and spent the last few years of his career with a lower-level team.

**** that. You can't do that to a legend....oh wait we are already doing that to Kenny

Mans an absolute ****ing legend but I think hes coming to the end

At best he should be behind Coates for a berth in our team

                                Defensive coaching role perhaps?
