This to me is what it boils down to individually and collectively Sakho and Skrtl are a better partnership than Skrtl & Lovren

Exactly. To come up with that kind of combination for that kind of cash is a feat in itself. It would be hard to do it if you tried.

Skrtl is the only defender on our books that hasnt been signed during Rodgers tenure (excluding Flanno who is injured)

In fact only 2 players in the starting 11 on Saturday were not Rodgers signings

Klopp likes to counter attack so sitting deeper will suit him more, you'd think. He was terrified when the hapless Ross Barkley was running at him and put that shot wide in the second half, bless him.

Kuyt recently included him in the all time best 11 of players he played with (himself excluded) although other defenders in it were Carra, Gio and some guy from Fener

The rest of the team was mint though, Torres Suarez and Robben as the front three, Reina in goal, Gerrard Alonso and Sneijder in midfield.

I've always liked him, he performs better when focussed on his own job and not worrying about Lovren next to him. Or Johnson to his side in previous seasons. Yes he makes errors but he's underrated here I feel.

Basically, when the team is functioning near perfectly we can get away with carrying one or two **** players. Like every top side tends to. I agree!
