Anybody else think Lovren was signed as a medium term replacement to Marty ... he's right footed I dont understand why he cannot wrap his head around RCB instead of LCB

Yep, it's not like it could go any worse. Might not work but let's at least give it a go though that said I expect Sakho will be injured by the time Dejan is back so its difficult. Thought our best defensive performance this season was probably Rubin away with Sakho and Lovren, compact as hell, pushed high, aggressive and they barely got near our goal let alone threatened to score. Also had an ok run with it last season, think we conceded just 2 in 3 games with them, then Sakho got dropped for Skrtel at West Ham and we were 2-0 down inside 7 minutes!

Tbh, no problem with that Ighalo goal, Skrrtel did everything fine up to a point. He knew Deeney would knock it on and there was only Ighalo to pass it too. You don't need to try & play them offside.

He dropped off and he actually got in ahead of Ighalo, forced him wide. His **** up was not kicking it properly when he had a chance to clear it.

He wouldnt get in any other "top 4" team. Not spurs arsenal chelsea or city. Even united with their ****e at the moment. He has made a career out of being either less-**** or less injury prone than his partners. We will probably go and spunk another 20 ****in million on another dejan lovren and still see Skrtel in the team...5 yards behind the rest of the defense like a ****in clown. You'd slate an 18 year old rookie for less.

He got out-muscled, no doubts. For me , the problems started in midfield, both goals we gave the ball away in midfield.

Since he has been our first choice CB we have won nothing other than the Lg Cup in early 2012 .....might be time to start putting him out to pasture
