I don't think changing the manager will make a huge difference, there's structural damage at the club. All a manager can do is gloss over them.

You might be right, but I've worked with more than my fair share of blaggers. In the long term the worst ones usually get found out. That's of little comfort in the meantime though.Originally posted by Saveloy View PostAll companies have bull**** behind the scenes but the football industry is a prime example of where the money involved vastly outweighs the competence of the 'business' people who actually run the operation (excluding owners)
I think you and I work in a similar industry, and there's no way someone like Aidy Ward would ever be anywhere near a position where he could influence anything at all.Oh I don't know.

We'll get an easy run of games where Eddie and Alex, Bournemouth and Norwich get wins against us. We'll be in the bottom half of table and then come January KloppOriginally posted by ChrisDR1968 View PostJudging by how miserable this forum gets with each game that doesn't result in a Liverpool victory I predict it will go ape **** at the first mediocre performance (and I doubt it will be many games into the season either)... and Rodgers will be squarely in the fan's firing line.

Yep, was my mistake for assuming logic was involved; I'll try not to make that mistake again......You've probably low-balled us with your $1.5 bil estimate though, as there should be plenty of billionaire megalomaniacs ready to splurge at least $3 bil now that our finances are under control. World domination is only a signed cheque away.Originally posted by Frenchie View PostI never said there was logic involved, FSG have increased the revenues of the club whilst reducing cost. That is what they have done whilst remaining fairly debt free.
So arguably now a global name with massive support (revenue) could be available at multiples of revenue..that's how gungadin...
All that needs to be found is a megalomaniac with an ego...and billions...plenty of them around..especially as owning a football club is hipster these days for the super rich..

Companies sell at multiples of revenue or earnings...$1.5 bill is only £1bil at today's exchange and £1 bil is not too far from the £700 m value in Forbes..Give it another 18 months of reducing costs and increasing commercial revenues and the valuation will hit $1.5...bil ...

If he has a bad start to the season his position will be untenable and the mood around the club and supporters will be toxic. Keeping Rodgers will only set us back further and the gap between ourselves and the top 4 will grow. I worry about our immediate and long term future under Rodgers, the damage could take an awful long time to repairKurtangled in the McFadden thread 16/01/08

Last season things didn't go badly tits up until towards the end and BR didn't face a huge amount of criticism until that point. Next time round like you say he's going to be getting it as soon as things unravel which more than likely will only be a handful of games in.
Be interesting to see how he copes and how FSG view it. If there's serious discontent maybe he'll go the same way as the Bodge did mid season.

See I disagree.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostThankfully people on here are still fairly respectable to each other, had a look at this twitter thing earlier and there are some massive cunts on there. What is wrong with people.
I made a post the other day about people on here whinging, which there are but they are entitled to their opinion as are I however things can quickly turn nasty on this site but there are many on here that aren't respectable to each other.
I get frustrated really easily which I acknowledge and sometimes take that out on people I don't agree with but I basically got told to go **** myself the other day which isn't very nice.
Anyway, moving on. Regarding Rodgers, he will get my support as I see some good in him but if I'm being honest I'd have preferred it had he gone as that final game of the season was shocking and frankly, unacceptable for this football club. I will back him as he's still the boss and we're better than to get on the manager's back, that includes those that want him gone. I'm also optimistic he will turn things around, many clearly aren't though.
I just don't see how constant negativity is going to help our cause in any way - I really don't.Last edited by Slinky Skills; 02-06-15, 10:10 PM.Klopp on LFC vs MUFC (March 9th 2016) - "This is why I love football. This is why we watched it when we were young. I can still not have enough of it."

Someone tell me if I'm off the mark here.
The cowboys were gutted to be forced out because they knew the TV money would double the worth of the club and so did FSG.
No brainer buy.
They've done similar to what H&G did in that they're doing everything on the cheap but FSG let us spend more because we don't have to service the debt.
H&G were like laurel and hardy and didn't quite have the money or nouse to pull it off before they ran out of time.
FSG are going to make an awful lot of money when they sell us and can wait until it suits them.
Hopefully sooner rather than later.Glass Half Full
