The echo suggested changes to the backroom staff was forced on Rodgers in order for him to keep his job

On a side note, that article above re champions league. Now the premier pays so much surely from an investment point of view its no longer as important as before. The new domestic tv deal means we will earn more of out the champions league than we would of being in it 4 years ago. More than most teams from other countries who are in it now! Now if we or better still the owners want to do more than just make money and actually challenge for domestic trophies than yes its important to keep up with the current top four. So what is it? Do the owners want to make money and leave? If so why haven't done exactly that already or do they actually want us to compete? I would argue its much more important financially for an Italian team to qualify than us. Anyway.

Well if true it shows Rodgers has balls and wants this job bad enough that he will ditch his mates to keep it. If and a massive if the only way he stayed was to lose them two, fair enough.

Yes but what I meant was, do we want to compete for leagues? A large number of fans think fsg are here for money only. They don't need to win leagues to make money. As a fan we all want titles, goes without saying.

This is the point about all this lark about needing someone to question the boss more. Everyone agrees the managers say has to be final, so if you bring someone in to question him, what's the point if he's ignored. Makes absolutely no sense blaming and then changing coaches under a manager without changing manager, unless of course Brendan himself thought they were **** and that's why he ignored them. Ferguson changed his assistant often enough.
