Against all logic though I do think we'll score just about enough goals this season.

I just think we'll, once again, struggle to keep them out.
A lot of Gerrards goals came from set free kicks and penalties. Surely by virtue of someone else taking them we'll replicate most of those. It's not like he was prolific last season in open play either. And Sterling played a lot of the season as a striker and so you'd hope that those goals and more would be replaced by actually playing a proper striker. So yeah, I'm not worried about replacing their goal threat. I am, however, concerned about the defence. Until we get some real quality in our central midfield we're going to struggle and put our defenders under too much pressure and most importantly Rodgers needs to find a way to organise a defensive system that works using a back 4.

Watch all the tabloid headlines now.

'Rodgers knows nothing of Benteke signing, player being brought in behind his back!'

He's already shifting the blame onto the transfer committee

            Clearly a Klopp signing.

Just watched this. Is he making a statement here that he's actually had nothing to do with the pursuit of Benteke?

I think you're reading too much into it. He's just not answering the question as nothing has been officially announced yet.

Yes. He hadn't even started his medical at the time either, and that may reveal issues with his injury he came back from. The presenter did well to move on and stay cheerful, unlike some of the bad bells we have.

no haha was just a joke.

Think he's just slightly annoyed being asked about transfer dealings in a post match interview. If he replies to the question, then it sets a precedent for every interveiwer to do the same. Saying that, it's a ****ing friendly out in the middle of nowhere so he could be less uptight about it.

Very possibly yes, but it seems a little odd to me. I would've thought most managers would've simply said "no comment", if they didn't want to discuss it.

Yes, I admit he was unnecessarily grumpy about it.

Simple decent question. Pretty dick reply.

He's probably just been told to keep quiet on all things happening internally. Guess he could have handled it a bit more friendly like. But he was bitten bad last summer with the Balotelli nonsense and the 'If you spend £100m you should be top 4' stuff, so I guess he doesnt want that to happen again.
                            *Except Michael, who died.

The BIG interview with him today on the website.........haven't had a chance to have a look yet.
Probably ready to burst at this point, so there might be some good stuff in there

He really has kept quiet this summer. I like it, keep everything behind closed doors and give nothing away. I think he knows that it make or break for him this season & hopefully is plotting a plan for success. He was over confident on times over the last few season & so many comments have come back to bite him in the arses. Maybe grumpy Rodgers is the way to go
