Anyway, I agree. I wouldn't go as far as to call it embarrassing, but I don't think it's a great PR move.
That wasn't supposed to be the case.

Its a small time move, that is the bottom line.

Attacking wise as team we look really good but there is no real belief that we are going to be challenging anytime soon and this should never emanate from the manager of LFC.

Our history doesn't weigh heavily around the necks of our players as has been alluded by Rogers and Hodgson before him, the fact is that neither of them have given credit to how close Rafa came to bringing us back to the very top and that in itself speaks volumes for both men.

Yeah, it is a bit small time. We don't need to do anything to get into the public eye, the media are transfixed on us by mere virtue of who we are. There's a line to be walked in our relations with the media - whilst being good to them encourages favour, familiarity can breed contempt and to some degree them feeling lucky to be able to talk to us is a good thing.

I'm not sure I know where BR stands on what our expectations should be, nor on what expectations he wants to project publicly. There have been some mixed messages on that count, I think as much as I agree with some of your points on this there have also been times this season where he has over-reached and raised expectations when he shouldn't have.

I have to say that this PR move screams of insecurity regarding his job that along with some of the noises he has being making lately it certainly would not shock me to see him sacked at the end of the season.

The whole 'haziness' issue regarding expectations in itself raises serious questions regarding his leadership qualities. We need a man with a plan, I hate saying it but i thought Rafa was great, you knew he had a clear structured path back to the top it wasn't always pretty but it was pretty damn effective.

Or he's just going on a football programme for a chat and a laugh. Were Carra and Gerrard insecure when they went on there?

              No, insecure players.

to me, rafa was pretty weird at times, kenny was pretty grumpy, rodgers is a talker ... what's important is that they all respect the club and its history and they all want us to be at the very top. that's what really matters.

I'm just sick to death of the negativity around Rodgers. Look what he ****ing had to start with- and people are whinging and moaning like we should be in the top 4, should be pushing Utd for the league.

****s sake - look at where this club has been the last 5 years. Look at the dross Comolli & Kenny brought in. Look at our points tally after Christmas last season. Yes Liverpool is a big club and always will be but you have to separate that from the team that goes out on the pitch which has been dross since Alonso left & Torres gave up.

Half the season we only had one senior striker. You can't compete with the top clubs like that.

Look at the points since the turn of the year: we'd be right in the mix for Champs League & whose scoring more than us since then? We've got to give this man time. The progress since September is ****ing obvious.

As for the stuff he says in the media: people would have thought Bill Shankly was a bit of gob****e if he never won anything, but he did, and he's a legend. We have to give Rodgers time and everyone get behind the manager.

I'd be astounded if he was sacked this summer.

Not a chance imo, even if we lost every game left he would get next season at the very least.

                                Yea great, sorry hes amazing.

Seriously though, nobody is saying he isn't better the Kenny or Hodgson, the very fact that these are being used as the yardstick is very worrying.

Unfortunately i want us to be the best not 2nd best or 3rd best, wil it take a bit of time, of course it will but lets remember how much money we hand our managers to spend in compsrion to the clubs around us.

Is it unreasonable to think that a world class manager with limited resources cannot compete with a crap manager with unlimitited resources?

I will givd Rodgers time but by God i have right to analyse that mother ****er because i have lived and breathed this club long before he did and will for long after as well

So sit back, put that in your pipe and smoke it.
