The problem with BR is he has a system and a philosophy in mind but he has no ****ing clue how to get there
He hasn't signed players this summer to suit 4-3-3 yet that is what he's going with
Also the passing possession style and pressing game has all but disappeared
Further more it could be argued that in our best season under BR we achieved success by not playing 4-3-3 and by being a more counter attacking side
There's nothing to argue. We were at our best when we abandoned the possession based style and were much more direct and countered teams well. Problem is that's not his way.
There's a general misconception about Brendan Rodgers being at his best when were taking the game to the opposition and play fast fluid football. That's not what he's about and it never has been.
Look at his reigns at reading, Swansea and now us. The general theme, is a patient, slow passing game which is all about keeping the ball and not taking risks. Its more about not losing than winning.
He doesn't want daring attacking players who take risks. Instead he wants players like adam lallana who will keep it and help move it around the pitch. But most of all not to lose it. Its more about not losing than winning.

The most surprising thing of all is the lack of pressure on the ball high up the pitch
Some have argued that the one period when he did manage to get this consistently was down to Suarez
Yet at Swansea he managed to get an organised pressing unit doing exactly that
However last year imo he abandoned all attempts at this and this year has been exactly the same

I think for me this and the performances are probably one of the biggest sources of frustration, even more than the results. The fact that the performances are so bad and we seem to have bought the wrong type of players for the system we want to play go hand in hand and suggests to me that as long as we stick with the system we are going to be frustrated all season or at least as long as we stick with the system. It still feels very much round pegs and square holes. Yes we might win some games through individual brilliance or opponents mistakes, but at the moment I just can't see how the system will work.
Perhaps similarly frustrating is the fact I can't see how we evolved from the type of football we played a couple of years ago to what we are trying to play now, they almost seem at opposite ends of the spectrum
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Just looking at our attacking players
Benteke is an central player but he will run the channels if need be
Ings is probably very similar to this
Sturridge is capable of playing out wide but for me does his best work going from the inside out than the other way
Origi I have no idea about but suspect from what I have seen that he is similar to Sturridge
Lallana plays his best football centrally, as does Coutinho & Firmino
Ibe is the only genuine wide player we have suited to 4-3-3
Markovic I dont know what I think, he might be able to do that wide role but he always seemed to lack pace which for me is essential in that
ALL of those players (barring Ibe) have been signed by Brendan

My point is that it doesnt really show anything other than Rodgers talks bollocks, which we already know.
If it came with a line about how he still talks about possession being the most important thing in the world or whatever it would add something as it shows his words dont back up his actions. But it was just a graph showing around a 7% drop off in average possession in 5 years. Give it 10 more games and it could be a smaller gap. Just dont think it shows enough for it to be something thats important.

God i hate the sight of this cunt. He can't go quick enough.
Surely FSG are aware the fans can't stand the odious toothy prick and want him gone!

Everton is 6 games away, okay its an away game but if the side are still meekly traipsing through games at that point then the local supporters will simply vote with their feet and that will be that.
Yes, but we still did much better than this when he was absent through rare injury or (more common) suspension. We had a system at the time that got the best out of lots of our players at the time, not just Suarez. He just added the magic and nearly won us the league.
